  1. I have a limestone cave beneath Lower Falls at Letchworth park. I've patched in cable from a freshman dorm at Geneseo, down the laundry vent, through the sewer grate, and up the river. It cost me nearly $10,000 just to run the cable. Best part is, of course, that the wife has to repel Upper and Middle Falls, taking up most of the first and second periods.
  2. Why not wait until the last possible minute to tell you? It will be like Siberian Christmas!
  3. I don't think Terry spends much time thinking about Philosophy, but he has values. Loyalty seems like one of his core values. He might be loyal to a fault, but, hey, I've got warts too, and I'm not worth billions.
  4. Neeskens, I like, having never seen him, because he's Dutch. Whom do we take out? Vierra? Didier Deschamps, I'm not so sure about, but if he's as good as you say, then I think Seedorf was better than Keane. I totally forgot about Beckham, who is clearly the greatest American midfielder of all time.
  5. Mikhail Grigorenko, whom I called Mishenko, since anything goes apparently, and I, had a long conversation. "Mishenko," I said. He paused for no few moments, finally asking me, "What do you want?" "Mishenko, aren't you glad that here in Buffalo, milk comes in cartons, rather than those horrible dispenser bags?" He shook his head, no.
  6. Zidane didn't have enough defensive responsibility for my bulldoggish tastes. Him, Gullit, Laudrup, Cruyuff, Platini, maybe were the supreme creators in my estimation, rather than a balanced mix of creator/destroyer.
  7. Top 5 European midfielders of my time? My top 5 precludes attacking midfielders, since I am in a bulldoggish mood. Matthaus Rijkaard Seedorf Keane Vierra
  8. How's everybody feel about Swansea? Michael Laudrup is the coach. They are the only Welsh team in the EPL.
  9. Myers still looks boyish and slightly uncoordinated to me. I wonder if he is still growing in height, or what. I hope that he does stop growing in height, mind you, soon. I am not a Doctor, but I am licensed to prescribe Patience for the boy, in situations, as these. I'm looking forward to calling him "Big Tex," when he grows up.
  10. Maybe spndzchz means "sites," as in, Camping Sites, where we once reminisced about the time before the Great Conflagration - the one in which SDS saved us. I have been thinking, that by "Conflagration," perhaps we are to interpret SDS to mean a tire fire of some sort, no?
  11. Boston is our Big Brother. And New York is our Big Big Brother. Personally, I'm looking to them two cities, more than I'm looking to Chicago or Los Angeles/California for Culture. That doesn't mean I can't be better than my big brothers.
  12. +: Foligno having a Herculean presence early on in the game. Ennis looking to steal the puck in the neutral zone to create breakaways. Stafford having opportunities where it seems like he is charging in so fast upon the goalie, that he is going to BOWL into him.
  13. Are you kiddin' me. I mean, seriously, that fat old bloke can call an hockey game, for realz?! I mean, you've got to be shittin' me for certain that Pornstashio Flexmeister can call a hockey game. Are you saying that that same dude who does all the interviews, also calls play by play?! For realz, if that Pornstashio isn't that most talented Sabres reporter EVAH!!!
  14. Milan, I've been through by train, and let me tell you, I felt very fashionable. But to have been in the laird of Marco Van Basten is something else.
  15. I'm going to drink some mineral spirits to celebrate the occasion! Just kidding, I will drink Samuel Adams, Boston Lager, instead.
  16. We used to have a badass indoor soccer team at the Aud called the Blizzard. The players also got involved at local town soccar camps. It would be nice to have a Mens' local professional team to go along with our badass local Womens' team.
  17. Seems strange, but here you go: Gailey and Nix are wonderful football guys that can be trusted to build a winner. Gailey has proven before that he can guide a team to the playoffs, and if anything has grown wiser in the ensuing years. Nix has cemented his legacy around the league as a top notch talent evaluator, and won hearts over far and wide with his charmingly Southern gift of the gab.
  18. Will it be Obama, comma, Obama? Or will it be UpTighty, Whitey, Righty, Romney? When's Voting Day? lmao
  19. Regarding whom I followed, as a soccer player myself, I always felt that I wanted to expose my eyes to the very best, because fine Soccer was so rare in my country (USA). My feelings were that the US team were the excrement at the foot of Soccer Mountain. The were hoof and chase neanderthals in a Game that was supposed to be Beautiful. It didn't take a mathematician to figure that I had better watch the better players from elsewhere. Alas, wanting to be good must be sustained and fostered and even nurtured, alas.
  20. The Freedom Barge (a folk song) You can take your Midwest ways, and leave em in the past You can take your Yankee ways, and shove em up yer ###. We could take this barge from Buffalo to Washington and back, And that Freedom Barge from Buffalo is putting up its mast.
  21. At this point, we should be protesting that Ralph Wilson cease and desist using the name "Buffalo," so that we avoid any further intellectual embarrassment, and real property value loss, through association with his "Bills." Possible Slogans: "That ain't Buffalo!" or "They're not Really from Here!" or "It's a Case of Mistaken Identity!" Possible Actions: Ride the Freedom Barge to Detroit. Give order in person. or Stay here, and wait for referendum next Fall on these imposters.
  22. It's different following a team that plays abroad, than following a local team. Playing soccer, growing up in the 80's, near Buffalo, we didn't have the best coaching, the fields were comparatively dire, and there were no professional teams, and there wasn't YouTube, so when games started being broadcast on the big satellite dishes, particularly the Prem, and Serie A, leading up to WC '94, it was magical. Then came WC '94. I taped as many games as I could from that tournament, and it really shaped me as a fan. To me, at 14, it was a tournament of so many new faces. There was Branco and Romario. There was Koeman and Bergkamp. There was Beresi and Baggio. Valderama, Stoichkov, and Tony Meola. That's why, as a soccer fan, I feel I can switch my allegiances at will. I came out of that tournament following Bergkamp at Arsenal. By the time he retired, Ronaldo was on the rise at Manchester United. I've stuck with ManU, too long perhaps, because I'm tired of seeing Giggs and Scholes every other week. It might be time for a new team, but so long, long a time as a fan, has jaded my feelings about other teams. Rooney and Van Persie together has been sickly sweet, though. I've also loved the way that Anderson and Cleverly play midfield. United's always had such an embarrassment of riches, that it's been fun to watch them play, mostly.
