  1. So, remember when some Bills fans were mad we traded a "blue chip" linebacker for "just" a running back? Yea, about that...
  2. Our blockers have to stop preventing Shady from taking it to the house.
  3. Had to be Gilmore. Darby was already outside and Gilmore ran over there anyway.
  4. That was...not great.
  5. Ballsy. I like it.
  6. I accidentally deleted my post saying it gave new meaning to the Ryan Miller shutout while trying to quote myself for a pat on the back. Let this be a lesson to all you kids out there: don't quote yourself from mobile.
  7. At $1895. Two units on the flying McDavids.
  8. Not unless we've hired Gregg Williams to run things.
  9. Needlessly? Needlessly!?!? Murray is obviously addicted to top-10 picks. Just...one...more!
  10. Mitch Marner is fun.
  11. Nope, it's Khudobin. Also, I take some solace in the fact that Andersen looks like poop through 4 periods and the Leafs are locked into him as a #1 long term. Was never impressed with him in Anaheim, either.
  12. In fairness, Boston is pretty bad and they're starting Khudobin.
  13. Yea I was just referring to this season on the upset front :)
  14. On the bright side, the Leafs looking great also involves the Bruins looking terribad. I'll take it.
  15. Yea, I mean, I'm obviously still very concerned with the defense corps as constructed, but I think the forward group (when healthy) is definitely good enough to get to the playoffs and maybe even pull off an upset...if it were being utilized differently. I do think Bylsma needs to be fired before this team has any real playoff success. For all of the talk about how he did a scout of all teams during his year off, he's doing the exact same things wrong he did in Pittsburgh. Nothing was fixed. I just don't have any confidence he's going to change.
  16. Watching Toronto is depressing--they play how I want the Sabres to play.
  17. Maybe I just like Nylander more than many do, but I think he's going to be an all-star level two-way player, and I would argue that his skillset is as missing on the wings as Fowler's is on the blue line. The money difference also should be considered pretty important. Nylander is going to be cheap for at least three years, and while Fowler's current value is very good, it's only for two more years and he still makes 4x what Nylander would on his ELC. And this doesn't even touch what happens if Kane leaves in two years and Reinhart does make the transition to center. Fowler is exactly what we need on the back end, but I don't think robbing Peter to pay Paul really gets us anywhere--Nylander's in the NHL full time next season IMO. The 2017 #1 is still something I don't want to part with, but I think it makes a lot more sense for that to be the centerpiece of the deal. 2017 1st, top-3 protected?
  18. I can proudly say I've been bitching about Bylsma being the coach since before he was the coach!
  19. The Kings haven't fallen because of the league changing, they've fallen off some because their roster has. -Voynov, arguably their 2nd best defenseman, gets himself deported for domestic violence. -Dustin Brown got old and bad. -Mike Richards got old and bad. -Jarrett Stoll got old and bad. -Marion Gaborik got old and even more injured. And through it all, they were still a contender last year. Gaborik, Richards, and Brown are some self-inflicted wounds by Lombardi, but their style of play still works with the right pieces. I hate it, and I don't want to he LA East, but their approach hasn't been broken by a move to speed.
  20. At this point I'd settle for baby steps: Samson at center. Bylsma will fall backwards into the right wingers maybe by the time Jack is back
  21. I don't have a good answer for why there'd be a disconnect, but I am quite confident the roster assembled is not a good fit for what Bylsma wants to do. Could also be poor personnel choices, or lack of available "right" personnel. But I don't like the fit. Hell, we were apparently prepared to pay Stamkos over $10 million per, and he clearly doesn't fit the way Bylsma wants to play.
  22. Reinhart had a primary assist that not many players could make happen ;) I don't think there's much overreaction going on. Bylsma had some glaring issues last year, the same issues which he had in Pittsburgh, and they appeared through one game to still be around. Saying the criticism is based upon a single game is an attempt to dismiss rather than confront the reality that our coach may be a problem.
  23. No, we don't have to seriously consider it. In fact, I would assume it was already considered and rejected around the draft.
  24. I'm not sure what Ennis is anymore, but I am sure he's not a guy in going to criticize much until he's got a solid 10-15 games under his belt.
  25. Oh man, even I don't think Bylsma could keep throwing Gorges out there if we got Fowler. And I hate Bylsma! Is your hate really stronger than mine?
