  1. You should absolutely "tell me how to live my life" if that means throwing me in jail if i ever get caught with a bong. do me the favor!
  2. I'm 75% trolling. But when all of my friends got into weed, they became dull and varying degrees of enslaved. When they quit, they got physically fit again and earned promotions and had a bunch of kids etc. I really don't like it and "live and let live" is a boring tenet I don't fundamentally believe in. "That's just your opinion man" "Not all X" yeah yeah but we all know what we are looking at even if we don't say it out loud
  3. No, it literally makes them lame And yes, it harms me that whenever i go into public now everything smells like weed. It's a fitting backdrop to this stage of the play really Caffeine makes people sharp and interesting. Beer makes them fat. Weed makes them cringe
  4. weed is beyond lame
  5. So cool, let's go amerks
  6. I don't really want Myers in our group of defensemen though.
  7. The best draft lottery improvement in 12 years is coming next spring The Buffalo sabres will be absent:)
  8. Is Bouchard the type of player we want? Seems like another offensive guy. Maybe he's good enough that we don't care about that?
  9. Yeah. I have no idea why I post like that sometimes. It's probably a millennial thing Though once in a while the refs do get it that wrong Either way, I don't necessarily mind things with wiggle room like that in sports, but it makes the offside challenge annoying
  10. The doc says it's terminal
  11. Yeah I wasn't sure where it stood at this point, but either way, they are comically bad at that sometimes too. It's always in favor of the team that didn't ice the puck, which I guess is a good thing in the spirit of the rule compared to the other way, but sometimes the gassed team is 3 strides ahead of the defender and they'll blow it dead a millisecond before he touches the puck with the other guy back at the hash marks.
  12. I get invited to things they don't let you charge for every week, never been to one. Sometimes they really pester me about it, but they switched to 9/80 hours this year and i live far enough away that my weeknights are already evaporated before spending an hour unpaid at the building
  13. I'm definitely exaggerating the number but I would venture that at least 3 get missed per game and sometimes they are in pretty big moments and aren't particularly close to being the correct call It just adds a bit to the "not a serious league" ledger to me
  14. My company tried to fire me for months, and sends me 25 infantilizing corporate emails per day lecturing like some 93 iq kindergarten teacher/hall monitor hybrid using corporate jargon that makes me want to gouge my eyes out, and is happy to tell me in these and other emails that i contribute negatively to their ideal demographic splits, assuring me they are seeking to solve this problem I do what I have to do and get my job done with 40 honest hours per week but giving my employer more than that from my own free time is something that would sap from, not add to, my self-worth/pride. I'm using every scrap of PTO and sick time they'll let me use
  15. I just think that, if the rule centers around whoever wins the race or projects to win the race to the puck, the refs get that call wrong laughably often. Oh, and you can't review THAT line infraction if the ensuing faceoff leads to a goal, but you can review the other line infraction
  16. I don't miss "touch icing" but I also disagree with at least a third of the "no-touch icing" calls in today's NHL
  17. I really hate red sports jerseys
  18. He's got a great voice for big sports moments
  19. I can't stand when people come to work sick, or not fully recovered. Obviously there are some jobs that are vital for society where this is sometimes necessary, but at least where I work there will be no measurable difference in company output by staying home until you aren't contagious, and that's before considering work efficiency when you feel like *****, the domino effect of making other employees sick etc. I often scoff when people say "come on, it's [current year]" but, really, it is 2023, we know germ theory, many of us have mostly fake desk jobs anyway, just stay home til you're better, let your employees do this without stigma or retaliation
  20. I am also distinguishing between the end state sabres in which everyone had been sufficiently grinded into a pulp of despair, and the slightly subpar hockey that snowballed to that point over a span of 4 months every fall and winter. That hockey was the real sabres, whose strengths and weaknesses told the story of the season, and the whimpering finish is probably what sticks in peoples minds and juxtaposes so strongly with what we see these players doing elsewhere in the playoffs. That's just how humans handle things when their GM punts year after year while watching yltheir agonizingly slow descent to the basement, as we can see by those players flourishing on teams that take hockey seriously Sure that Miller and that Montour were sadsack hockey players but it was obvious that those guys weren't Montour and Miller, even just comparing to most of the season up to those points
  21. The problems with our roster in 2016 through 2022 were easy to diagnose before each season which is why I had a run of predicting point totals at the end of each year with an error margin of about +/- 3, those seasons were as predictable as the calendar. Colin Miller was never an issue outside of the fact that he was slotted too high but that isn't his fault and points to the other problems we had. Same with Montour And like anything else, the further we get away from those times the less accurate general discourse about them becomes
  22. I completely disagree now because I did at the time, and I think exaggerations brought on by the sorry state of the roster at the time only get worse in hindsight, not better Montour was really only rough during spring of 2021 too but everyone broad brushes his whole tenure as well.
  23. Lucic is Canadian?
  24. Miller wasn't as bad here as everyone claimed
  25. The good news for us is that I remember people talking about Florida as a "soft, offense-only" team just last year.
