That seems like it will forever be a mystery. I've always wondered if TPegs was put off by the Tim Hortons thing, and then over the edge by those dreaded few April words, but then again Jason was shopping him at the deadline according to PH (thank god those initials aren't ambiguous anymore). Ultimately, the information we do have available tells an unambiguous story in itself.

Oh damn, I got that wrong. Interesting. is the purpose to get the goalie to fling the puck into a dangerous forecheck?
-
We need an insider to come forward and give the details Because I feel like that's a pretty make-or-break thing right? If he's telling them not to trade for xxx, that's horrifying - counting his opinion as one of the several relevant ones. If he is just like "I like that guy but you're in charge" then we're okay.

Man, Krueger doesn't strike me as some technical savant. That thought process is a little scary

Woof, jame burned me. Chad says that "they (Buffalo) were high on Lindholm and he probably would have been a part of it." Not reporting that we turned it down like jame claimed. Though I change nothing about the substance of my earlier posts, I'll sit in the corner with the dunce hat. Don't trust the internet, folks

Very similarly from what I've read. It's always the worst when you do this and then get back to crickets

Why the bump? And happy 17k!

Nothing is untouchable Dahlin for Huberdeau I'm just kidding I think GA has nailed it.

Your predictions: what is Botterill going to do?
Randall Flagg replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
That's an interesting question, with different answers depending on if you're We've or Liger. I think he needs to show more than any of his seasons so far to declare it, but he's shown an amount that allows you to hope for it. -
We know Terry sits in on all the juicy stuff, watching film, scout meetings, etc. right? I just wish we knew if he ever says anything, and if people are required to listen to his opinion and take it into consideration.

Subban would fit in so well with the high flying offense and dubious defense hehe

So hard to read, and so accurate for the moment. My locker room source says they only needed to wash his uniform once a month, as it rarely saw sweat

Let's take Spencer Knight 7th I want chaos

? Just reading nfreeman i swear i needed to find myself and grow as a person Yes. And maybe it's not good support, but if Chad knows something, I would right now and at the time trip over my feet trading what we got for each of those offers, since I dont' like having a quitter, two of the ~five worst skaters in the league with essentially two second round picks, one of which is 3 drafts into the future. The main point being, the return was obviously garbage, and many of us argued that at the time, and are completely skeptical of a general narrative that we were at the mercy of the gods in terms of how everything has played out in the whole saga. Our GM hired a coach that spent an entire season doing stuff well-documented at the time to suppress the on-ice and therefore trade value of their second most valuable asset, and then suppressed it even more again for ownership purposes with the bonus, and then made the move for what turned out to be garbage, and it's on Jason even if ROR was the grumpiest cranky pants in the world. Jason can and likely would own his mistake, it's his on multiple levels.

I agree for the hockey reasons you would suggest, but also, they should do it just because I WANT ENTERTAINMENT
-
Ah that's really it? Yeah, that doesn't mean anything haha.
-
Oh man...I could give you one if you really want it...it's all done and sitting somewhere else It's actually funny that you mention this because right around the time of this post I was just finishing up a rather bloated Flagg-style adventure on the topic, which was cathartic and allowed me to move on and enjoy the loser cancer's Conn Smythe, Cup, and Selke

So Schopp is making it sound like Ristolainen isn't getting traded, what did I miss in that regard? Is the discussion over in the rumor thread or something?
-
I asked Chad on twitter so we'll see if he responds, so I have a link to show you. I don't have time to actually search back to whenever he first found it because I don't know how to search twitter and he tweets 100 times per day

That journalist named Chad who regularly appears on WGR. My fingers literally type slower now than they did six months ago because of this place lmao

Give me a minute. I have to go sift through a mountain of jame's posts on hf, he's the one I most recently remember recapping them. Off the top of my head, we supposedly turned down this guy straight up since we didn't want to pay the bonus: Edit: the source is that Chad guy that Hoss is dubious about, so take that for what it's worth. Chad appears on WGR shows so he's not some idiot, but who knows what he really knows, but why would he lie too, is the thing. The other trade was MTL: Poehling, Danault, 2nd. Poehling is going to be a stud and Danault >>> the NHL stuff we got. My only point is that our deal was not the best we could do, Botterill was just mistaken about the quality of the pieces he got, and assumed more was better. I also bet money that Chayka would have moved Domi for him straight up over galchenyuk since Chayka is an analytics nut and analytics saw through ROR's minus 23 and called him a Selke caliber player even in 17-18, but that's just me pontificating. And we know he was interested because there is video of him talking to Jason about ROR at the draft. I suspect Jason really just wanted volume, as that was the predominant narrative coming from the gossip guys.

Sobotka is going to be in our opening night lineup because Jason's pro hockey player evaluation skills are incredibly wonky
-
We turned down better offers than what we got lol

He had the most offensively sheltered minutes in the league, essentially. Despite not getting a lot of time with our three good scoring forwards, we couldn't have done much more for him than we did. Further, if you try to adjust his stats and metrics for teammates/situation, he winds up looking worse. He was a bad NHLer in the 18-19 season and probably shouldn't have been there. I agree that we should have spent more time on the 23-37 duo, especially as the season wound down, but we had to keep Reinhart with Jack and Skinner so that we could continue to win one game out of sixteen. That's more important than actually doing interesting things, and seeing what players can do, dammit!

By the way, I did read that 7 was in your trade @Hoss, and forgot about it. So I'd ask Tampa for another piece. But I'd still do it! And please just ignore me because crafting outlandish trades is my favorite hockey thing to do. Last summer I made a bunch of Dahlin trade proposals just for fun
