I say nothing, as last night is the first time I've spent more than 30 seconds watching/reading about Cozens
-
Where do people rank him relative to Casey, circa 2017?

For what it's worth, my two favorite prospects in the organization were of this nature (Laaksonen, Olofsson) and one of them was indeed a seventh round pick by Murray. Come to think of it, almost all of my favorite Sabres prospects currently are Murray's (Olofsson, Asplund, Borgen, Guhle before he left) Of course, this is just an illustration in how far draft results lag the actual draft.

Oh, theyre gonna stink again. It won't be because of tonight though

Your predictions: what is Botterill going to do?

If Eleven ran a team's drafts on his quirky and interesting justification process, he'd probably be at least as successful as the average NHL GM
-
Twitter Chad says he "has it on good authority" that they hated Kaliyev for what it's worth, and Brawndo says they didn't interview him. I wonder what smelled funny.

Since liger locked the draft thread: -
Why would any team default to one position? They have a board and go BPA, according to them Their board, like that of every team if you look at the results of tonight and any other draft, is just a lot different from the ones we see all season
-
Did you see their board? What do you mean by default?

I also just read Boone Jenner/Mike Hoffman hybrid but i'm pretty sure some of these people are just making ***** up lol

-
Damn I love this guy now
-
Can you elaborate on "the math"? I'm reading some people compare him to Jeff Carter
-
There isn't "a" BPA I'll bet you money that Johnson was the highest ranked player left on his list It's what he does
-
Sounds to me like he's going BPA, it's just that his BP are different from other peoples'

The idea that they want to see Risto with Krueger first just reminds me of PH and JB wanting a full evaluation season, and so not leaning on the previous season's tape/results. They subsequently loaded up on tank-level forwards and finished in last place. That initial decision rippled all the way to the NHL award ceremony last night in more than one way. I guess I'd just love to hear specifics on what they think Risto's problems are, and what the plan is to fix them. Partly because I'm not comfortable claiming I know what the problem with Risto is

Today could be the day I settle firmly on wanting Botterill gone. It could also go so well that it'll probably be a long time before I ever get there. Or anything in between. So fun!
-
I agree with Claude, but I don't have the resentment towards PA for always asking these questions, because the things he mention are alarm bells to me and would indicate something problematic, and probably help explain why the team that finished last in the McEichel draft has the fewest wins of any other since they made the pick.

So, if you ice the puck because you're tired, you might now be inclined to chase after it anyway. Which could open things up the other way, or occasionally give you a gift. Or maybe it changes nothing because it's fairly rare for those pucks to hit the goalie much less them not have enough time to move it safely

I think Thorny is talking about the decision more broadly, not when to do it.
