  1. That could have been one of Roy's best seasons also. The rules favored the small and/or soft. V only killed penalties for a short time, then it was apparent his skating and stamina proved he couldn't log those extra minutes. Semin and Parise would both be mistakes.IMO I wouldn't overpay for Parise. As we moved later into the playoffs and space diminished, he disappeared.
  2. Let's be honest: Darcy drafted soft and small for way too many years after the league changed after one year post lockout, and now he is trying to close the barn door. Terrible vision on his part and adds fuel to the fire on why it is time for him to move on.;
  3. Could only tell you stats, unlike others, I've never been in the Sabrs's lockeroom to give you all these other facts. Ruff played him in a lot of spots. His size is a problem for today's NHL. Playing with size guys in Dallas he might be better. Ruff at times played him with Gerbe. and matched him at home against Joe Thorton. Yea, really LOL
  4. So 29 Gm's around the league tell Paul their business? Even Darcy doesn't and he sees him all the time. What picks, 1, 2 or 7? I don't like Roy either and would love to see him gone. If the right piece came back, Vanek or Miller could go too., But much of this bable, fills air space, the WGR home page and is BS. Before I get accused of having an agenda against WGR, the news is no better, and Sully frequently makes a fool of himself when he talks hockey. Then there's "Panger" and "Pierre". UGH! As you can tell, my problem is sports media in general, and, not just WGR. There are just too many outlets who have to say something. 24/7 news and sports makes it very difficult if not impossible to gauge the truth. My problem doesn't stop with the sports media.
  5. Miracles do happen. And again, miracles do happen.
  6. I think he would be exposed in Toronto as a shell of his former self before the season is 1/2 over.
  7. Darcy's wife and son petted my dog last week when we walked by. Is thas better than a tree in his backyard? (Yes, I walk past there every day. And no, I can't read his lips))
  8. Roy stays and is third leading scorer. Vanek is moved in next three weeks. Gerbe is Rochester captain and his fans accept reality. Who comes in, I'm not sure. Gaustad not even thought about for coming back. Ennis packaged in a trade, despite being best skater I've seen in years, as Darcy accepts fact he can't have the shortest and lightest players in the NHL on his team in a big man's league. All this is LOL. ----- I don't need the tiks.
  9. I don't like Cowherd. Yet a failure to accept the fact that hockey is a niche sport, is ostrich like. Understand, this is a comment from a 31 yr Sabre season ticket holder who loves the game in it's pure form.
  10. Hey I love Rick, and Ted before him, I grew up with the Sabres when home games were radio only!!!! I walk around work and am astounded by the number of people who are fans because of Rick, and rarely watch without him. Kudos to him. Frankly, I could follow the games without sound, and would take the dork Sylvester, if it meant winning the cup.(He has really cute dimples. despite being an arrogant a** like his old GR partner Jeremy) I'd trade Rick for a cup any day. Still, I love to listen to him and I'm glad he's back full time. Is Harry's departure a factor in this decesion?
  11. They spent big money better?
  12. Gee , they all made the playoffs!

  14. Why would they want Staff or Sekera? They fill what need for them?
  15. Yea, I did that second read about 15 yrs ago. Good book.
  16. Very minamal experience upon which to base an opinion. Boards are interesting.
  17. If you can put aside his politics if you hate him, I've read most of Newt Gingrich's historical fictions. He is an historian by education and an intelligent man. They are good and informative reads. Really enjoyed the Gettysburg trilogy, and it has peeked my interest in reading straight history books on the subject after I finnish my current list.
  18. HS for me was a long time ago. Many of these weren't required. Trying to expand my genre. Cheap and/or free on Kindle
