Both he and Gerbe have the heart, competitiveness and toughness to be willing to compete on the walls. they just lack the size to win consistently. Quickness just won't do it all the time. It's what upsets me about Stafford. He has the size and the skill, but lacks the drive and compete. I respect all small players who have gotten to this level. They had all kinds of bias and prejudice to get past and have to be tougher than the big guys. Unfortunately, when they compete with big guys with the same desire, you can't coach size.

Paul Hamilton. Wow! He played hockey in a differentt era, a totally different game and is the most savvy on the moron station. Whitey started watching hockey in 1999 and before that was a Syracuse basketball and lax guy. Howie competed at stick ball as his youth sport and was a WBEN news reporter until he had to fill this gig by necessity. Schopp knows tennis and compromised his integrity and crediblity when he moved over to work with the "coach" who he legitimately criticized when he was on 107.7 opposite him. Oops, 107.7 changed their format and he took a job. Bullfrog stopped making pizza in his thirties and got a job. They spark controversy, but please don't consider them any more knowledgeable than you , me or anyone else on this board. I have to agree totally with Paul on this one. The kid is a natural center. and our best small player. His stop and crossover step up to full speed is exceptional and is what they teach in power skating. A great skater. No big sweeping turns. Time to move Gerbe and Roy and get bigger. You can't have three smurfs in your lineup with soft size guys and win a cup. Get him some skilled big guys to give him space and protect him. Hope Kassian replaces Gerbe on his wing tonight.

And he's doing it with those two power forwards on his wings. ;)
