All joking aside, I really think that @Ghost of Dwight Drane was ahead of his time on this. Man, I miss him.

I think that Dahlin will be the next captain, but I don't see him in the Drury mold. It may come, but I am not sure that he has it in him. I tend to see Dylan as more the Drury type and could really grow into that role.

I respectfully disagree with you on this. The players you mentioned came into a disasterous situation. The #2 picks in 2014 and 2015 were a direct result of the catastrophic *tank*. ROR was brought in as part of terrible first re-build attempt. I do not see the situation now as in any way being similar to those times. The roster is not quite there yet, but the team and culture is not a disaster.

I think that KA tried to upgrade those players and could not find a trade partner. Nor was a UFA willing to sign. Either way what does it matter to have $7 million cap stuck in Rochester. They needed to have the bodies and to spend enough to be above the cap floor. Sure larger contracts kicked in this season, but still ... bodies were needed.
