*this is a press conference, the last thing I want to do is answer a lot of questions* ...

It's Canada Day here, but none of us feel like celebrating. We, as a nation, are finally and hopefully coming to a reconing of our very distasteful and shameful recent past.

It just seems strange to me. Whomever they draft first overall they must feel he is the best player available and will be a very good, at least, contributor to the team and it's future. And the same is true from the players perspective. I suppose the Sabres would want to try to feel out the 'character' of the player, but an interview is the best place for the interviewee to 'fake' that. Same goes for the player finding out more about the Sabres org. I just don't think that much can be learned for the process. It's like a job interview, both sides are trying to find out about the other sides 'hidden' stuff, but in the end it's a gamble on both sides. In my life I have thought that I had a great situation lined up in the interview process and 6 months into it ifound out the opposite and vise-versa.

Why?

This non interview thing means nothing to me. Either Power is the pick, or he isn't. The fact that he has not interviewed with the Sabres really should have nothing to do with it, IMO. Did @Pimlach interview @Eleven? I don't think so.

Goaltending upgrade of Hutton is critical. I like the guy, but he is just not good enough on this Sabre team. A team defense focus is also very important, especially if Jack and Sam are both traded (for the record, again, I don't think either should be traded). I have always felt that it is easier to prevent goals than to score them. We do need to score more goals, as the above will not be enough to get us close to even, especially if Jack and / or Sam are traded.

And Philly. I hate the dastardly duo with a passion that burns bright.

The guy is a convicted sexual offender. Story comes out that he did something similar in the past while employed by the Chicago NHL team. Player(s) told people in authority about it and the story was fed up the food chain, when at somepoint it was not further acted upon. Coach leaves the Chicago team after the cup winning season in 2010. Goes on to other employers and same things happen leading to a conviction, or guilty plea. This stinks all the way up in Chicago.

The Swiss are through on penalties (5 - 4) in the first major upset of this Euro. They came back from 3 - 1 with goals in the 80th and 90th minutes.

Still 3 - 3 at the end of Extra Time. On to Penalties ... not my favourite way to end a match. I preferred having a sudden death 'golden goal' period of 10 minutes after extra time and then penalties.

It's just too simple for yous guys ... everyting in Metric is based on 10s. Same with temperature ... 0 is freezing, so 10 is cool ... 20 is nice and ... 30 is hot. The closest weather station to me is in Terrance Bay, or Shad Bay ... https://www.theweathernetwork.com/ca/weather/nova-scotia/terence-bay Both are saying it's 27 and feels like 35. There is no possible way that is the temperature and 'feels like' temperature on my back deck (about 25 yards from my wharf), or my wharf (which is about 2 feet from the wind swept and cold Atlantic waters). It is actually quite chilly here in the wind. A few kms away from the coast and it is probably 30+. In the city of Halifax today it's 35+ and in Bedford (where we used to live) it is 37+. Just checked and in Bedford it is 33 and 41 right now. You guys (BC interior) now hold the hottest temperature ever recorded in Canada.
