I also do not like that you can score on a rebound of a saved penalty. That compounds the unfairness. If the stopper stops it it should be dead ball and a goal kick.

Seems that I missed a very exciting semi-final match yesterday. I still say penalties are a terrible way to decide a big and thrilling match, but they were also very exciting. I share your fear of the playoff disappearing act, but attribute it to coaching and whatever. The big guys in Toronto, including JT, have not shown up properly prepared, or whatever, for the playoff ever.

I think this is correct. It has alwasy been that way. I remember when it was suggested that the Sabres offer sheet somebody (can't remember who) and someone pointed out that they could not because a compensation pick was not available. I can't remembe if it was becasue the Sabres traded it away, or traded for it.
