Maybe it's just me, but this is in very poor taste, IMO.

Depends where he is I would think. If he's in Vegas he could get to Seattle easily. If he is somewhere else, probably.

It means that the first round pick has a bit of a condition on it in that if it's top 10 it will not go to the Sabres. It is very unlikely that Vegas will be picking in the top 10 next draft. They will be a playoff team and will likely go pretty far in the playoff again this year. There is a chance that this could be a problem. Not a big chance. The second point means that the Sabres are not agreeing to pay part of John's salary for the remainder of his contract. That's a good point.
