It is perfectly reasonable to have Anderson start the first game, especially against the team he played for. Extra motivation. Start *Eric The Great* or is that *Erik The Red* (the father of Lief Erikson) against a (on paper at least) tougher team in the Panthers.

The Lightning did it and things worked out pretty well for them. I think that if you trust your hockey talent evaluators and developers you will have a good feel for who belongs long term. Then you sign those players long term on the best deal you can make with the player. Everyone is going to be happy and the player will be working hard to show that they are worth the current contract and will show that they will want to earn the next and bigger one.

I think Cozens will sign a very similar contract to this one. Maybe as high as 7 and $35M, but more likely 7 at $4.75M AAV.

This deal is perfect. It will be a bargain in about 2 or 3 years. This guy will be the defensive anchor on a very good Sabre team. Likely top pairing with Dahlin or maybe 2nd pairing with Power as the years go by and other players develop.

All KA did was buy 2 years for the next very good to great goalie to be ready (I believe it is Levi). IMO, KA did a good job bringing in a better goalie in Comrie. The Sabres will be fine and will learn a lot about team defense over the next two seasons and will win a lot of games in doing so.

This is good news. It shows the Sabre management and ownership really believe in this guy and what he is doing with the team. It also tells me that management is happy with the players they have and how they are developing together. This is it. These are your Buffalo Sabres ... players and coaches for the foreseable future.

Kyle has been the Captain of this team for the past 2 seasons. He has been a leader since he arrived. Others are emerging as leaders and will get their time as / if things continue to progress. Kyle is the perfect Captain for the next year or two. I also support the Alternate Captains. I suspect that Tuch will wear an 'A' in the event of injury to any of the letter wearers.
