  1. Do you really believe that the prosecutor vigorously presented his case for indictment to a grand jury, having clear evidence from video and coroners' evidence that show a homicide occurred, and could not come away with even a charge on negligence to go to trial? Is that what you believe? Maybe I'm naive, but I have a hard time believing that a good and talented ADA would have a hard time convincing 12 of 23 jurors that there is at least enough evidence for a trial. The ADA's work so closely with police that I have a hard time believing that they are trying their best. Win an indictment and you have basically ruined your career as a prosecutor working with police.
  2. What do I attribute the winning streak to: Simply this: Teams start to play their best hockey (at every level) when they know the internal pecking order..... Teams need to know, Who is first line, second, third.....what are the pairings, who is accountable for what. What is my role in this hockey universe. Finally this team has some semblance of that. They have NHL talent, but finally teams need to take them seriously because they are playing together and understand their teammates roles. Tyler Myers can come to work knowing he's the top guy. It makes a difference. Strachen comes to work knowing he's the last stop KISS guy. It helps a roster.
  3. Not an exceptional precedent really, just as it has always been.....How many police have ever been successfully prosecuted for inflicting injury or death in the course of their work. There may be civil settlements, but I would imagine relatively few examples in our nations history. And that includes civil rights, union busting, jail deaths, etc. Grand Juries traditionally hate indicting police officers. And prosecutors traditionally hate prosecuting them.
  4. Thanks for the clarification. It is helpful to know. Interesting. So my understanding check. The Mormon God (in as much as he is a material being) was always around elementally, but not necessarily possessing the divine attributes Judaism/Islam/Catholicism would normally associate with God: e.g. omniscient, omnipotent, all-loving, all-merciful, etc. -- these were attributes that were acquired - and that Mormon disciples also hope one day to acquire. How am I doing?
  5. feel free to discuss Zemgus's Divine attributes. :P
  6. Thanks...I thought there was something much more recent you were referring to.
  7. This is a terribly wrong thing to say. And I can't stop laughing either.
  8. I hope Zemgus doesn't have political ambitions, he could become the President of Latvia next week.
  9. What was said?
  10. I'm really enjoying this, and it was actually something closer to what I was expecting (not the wins but the style of play). I don't expect this run to be sustained for long. However, liking the play much better especially the play of Myers and the d-pairings. Enroth is locked in. If I'm in his locker room I don't even talk to him for fear of breaking the Majestic Bubble of Faz from Kevlar 7, Gift of the Gods that Enroth is living in. These things are fragile.
  11. I never quite realized this about Mormonism. Two questions if you will, please. In Mormonism, Is the thought that God the Father is full evolution of the human form? In Mormonism, Is God the Father eternal, or a created being?
  12. Actually...a sighting of the great white Buffalo last night. Buffalo scored off the draw. Wahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
  13. Anthropomorphic? As in, possessing a human-like body?
  14. I'm actually quite blown away by this. Do Mormons believe in God the Father as a physical being?
  15. It moved!, it was imperceptible, but I felt it.
  16. This is almost the word for word the early position of St. Augustine, if I remember. He struggled for years with the idea of an incorporeal Christian God, before being converted to the position that God exists outside time and space.
  17. There were $16 million reasons not to sign McKee in the end. Can't blame him for walking for that kind of scratch.
  18. If God is eternal by definition, then this is a syntax error. What was before no beginning and no end? And now I'm converted to zen.
  19. Sad. We haven't won a cup then.
  20. Wow, wee. I'm scratching my head.
  21. I enjoy your opinions.
  22. I was going to write, like being the least infected.
  23. Is Strachan missing an eye?
