  1. And I think Robert was team MVP in 75 . IIRC
  2. Welcome to your Latvian Sabres!! The Sabres are competitive within the game. They've cleaned up their own zone. They have a ton of size on the back end and they can all skate and cover ground. (Well at least 3 of them). I don't understand the lines beyond Ennis, Girgs, Moulson, but they look dangerous most shifts. Giordiono is much better than I remember.
  3. Nice work. He deserves it.
  4. Robert or Schoeny more valuable? Hmmm? That's a tough one for me. I give Robert the edge, conventional wisdom is that Rene benefited the most from a great line. but Rene was fast. He opened a lot of space for Perreault and Martin. I really think he would have had similar numbers anywhere.
  5. just wondering. I wasn't asking him to do it.
  6. This has all got me curious, I wonder how it works in terms of minutes of ice time.
  7. Interesting. Thanks. There probably is a cut-off mathematically (around pick 100 maybe) where it is better to have more crappy round picks than higher picks because of the probabilities.
  8. Saying you really like a 3rd round pick is really just that. It is a fun thing about hockey. In the end......the entire 2011 third round probably hasn't produced an entire seasons worth of NHL hockey (82 games) combined yet. So all really liking a player coming out of junior means is you think he's got a better than 10% chance of making the NHL.
  9. The last time I looked at an all-star game, I think Wayne Gretzky won a jeep.
  10. what?!!! Oh. A hyphen makes a difference here.
  11. Nice to see Paul Byron with a steady job on an NHL roster. (not wishing him in Buffalo, but it is nice to see.)
  12. I agree. He's fun to watch isn't he?
  13. my legs are arthritic, thanks for the reminder.
  14. What's Harrington thinking? I don't Tweeter (Tweet? What's the verb?) What's Drew Doughty? Chopped liver? the number 2 pick in 2008? First D chosen? "Generational Talent" is a drafting phrase that I believe was dreamed up as part of HockeyFuture's rating system years ago. Now it is a common phrase in hockey parlance.... it really has become silly in some respects. If you were re-drafting 2005.....who in their right minds would take someone other than Kopitar at #2 behind Crosby? LA has some studs on that roster. They haven't gone without.
  15. You could always locker next to the colon-spastic.
  16. Sorry. He's a lockerroom Immunology-deficient. Better?
  17. How come you can be Cancerous in the locker-room and not syphilitic? Gangrenous? Hemorrhagic? I'm all for disease equity in terms of locker room personality.
  18. My best answer (opinion really) is not yet. . Here's the dilemma from my perspective. I can see some success coming from Nolan's style, the hard work, the counter-attack, the shell it back and catch rubber approach.....but at some point the younger players (in the organization, not necessarily on the roster) have to take center ice, go through the growing pains and start at least matching shots. When that happens it will feel like a step back for some time to ultimately progress ahead. A step back from this aint going to look pretty either. Truthfully I think I would rather see 5 to 4 OT losses matching chances at this point than 1-0 shutouts and getting out-chanced 3-1. It is better in terms of developing a roster going forward. I honestly think that's what Murray would prefer to see, much like Ottawa about 3 years ago. But that's mere conjecture on my part.
  19. They hit because they don't have the puck. I'll take every win. (Here's the but) But......this is more of what I expected to see at the start of the season. I'm okay with it, but we will win when hard work and luck team up. This isn't a formula for winning consistently.
  20. He looks like the Purdue chicken guy.
  21. Mandela has the record for longest suspension, 20 some years in the penalty box.
  22. Let me be specific. What I find creepy (in the strict definition, as in "unsettling") is your insistence that someone is a DIMWIT for privately displaying and relaying normal human emotions on such a matter. But i'm not telling you what to do: Keep bringing us Yosemite Terry the cartoon. By all means. That's just me. If you don't like what I write, all I can say is ignore me.
  23. Marty Brodeur looked pretty good last night.
  24. Whatever reaction Pegula had, it was a human one, and privately between him and Dale Tallon. I don't think it makes him a champion or a dimwit. Human, that's all. Something other than a cartoon.
  25. It probably puts the breaks on any Canadian expansion thoughts for a while.
