I wanted the 4 firsts for Vanek. And I was a huge Vanek fan at the time. You only needed to find one Vanek or better out of the 4 picks, and Edmonton was horrendous at the time, almost guaranteeing at least 2 of the picks would be high, if not more.

Baby steps. At least this game was watchable. Unlike the recent 15 games. Can only speculate how different this might’ve looked with Eichel, Ullmark, and two guys who actually play D in McCabe and Borgen.

Assuming we have a “normal” 82 game season next season, I’m not going to suffer through some Ron Rolston 2.0 for 7 months. There’s a handful of veteran coaches out there. Pick one. I’m about near my end with this charade. I’ve been watching this team actively my entire life, but I’m not going to keep investing my time and money anymore. I already gave up my season tickets 5 years ago, my mini pack 3 years ago, now I’ll cut the cord.

That’s a good point. Except most seasons start in October and are over for the Sabres by the end of December. This one started in January and it’s over in March. The usual 3 months. Maybe slightly accelerated.

Between Black Sunday, The Tank, Ville Leino, the ROR trade, and multiple GM/coaching changes, there’s been a lot of dark days. It’s hard to pinpoint which has been the lowest. For me, it’s a never ending nightmare, and debating which point has been the lowest, is the lowest point.

Yeah, the Sabres are giving away a G they spent a 3rd round pick on, spent 7 years developing, was an AHL all-star last season, played in a handful of NHL games behind a team that can’t score and plays bad D. Ship him out for a 6th round pick. Makes sense. Capable goaltending grows on trees I guess.
