Duffer is calling him “Sherry” too. Biron saying “Sheery.” -

After what Vegas was able to do last season, I no longer buy into the “too many new players” theory. -
Dang. I was hoping to hear that they spent the day playing Fortnite, or engaging in a Dance Dance Revolution dance-off.

My friend that I went to the game with waited probably close to 20 minutes in line for a slice of pizza. They were all already premade - all the staff had to do was dish out a slice and take a payment. We almost missed the introductions because of how slow they were.

I saw this too. It was in the 1st. He also did a little thing in the 3rd that nobody seemed to notice. As a Bruin was entering the zone, Dahlin choked up on his stick and made a weak attempt at a poke check. I assumed he was trying to fake out the Bruin into thinking he had more room to stickhandle with. Then, Dahlin quickly slid his stick to normal hand positioning and tried another poke check. It was so fast, and so minor, and nothing came of it. I was still impressed. -

This is the feeling I’m starting to get as well. Seems like he’d rather be “safe” instead of seeking a “spark.” The Dahlin debate supports this, if he’s telling Dahlin to not run. If the lines falter early on in the game, I’m curious to see how long it takes him to make adjustments. -

Those lines have the potential for being atrocious. Swap Elie and Zemgus, swap Thompson and KO. I get that Wowie probably doesn’t want a line of all “youth” in Elie-Mitts-Tage, but so what. -

Saw that. Pretty awesome. Thought I was being slick when I signed up, and used a Los Angeles zip code to avoid Sabres blackouts. Then I only saw Kings and Knights games listed, and freaked out for a second. Kinda lame that you can only get the games in your market, but I guess if you wanted to change your account zip code all the time, you could see whatever games you want to. -
The Wings games have a far better selection and quality of food than what I saw at the Sabres opener.

Signed up for a free trial of Fubo. The team has one week to help me decide whether or not I’m going to pay for it. -
Did we ever find out what they did for “team building” that day? They certainly didn’t look excited to be playing their home opener yesterday.

Didn’t bother to read the responses. I’m sure there were plenty of optimists. “Oh it’s just the first game, oh there’s a lot of new players, oh Boston is better.” They sucked. No identity, no unison, no soul. If you think that’s going to change in two days, or two weeks, idk what you’re smoking. Vegas had a team of all new players and almost won a Cup.

Ehhh. Some of the stuff I just saw...not so good.

So many of you living in the past.

I was at the game. The overall experience was poor. From start to finish, there was just no life or soul in being there. During the game, nothing went on to pump up the crowd. Any music played was either ineffective, or not loud enough, or both. I scoured my level for food choices. The pizzas looked like ones you’d get at a gas station for $1, but these were around $8. Fried bologna used to be pretty awesome at the Aud. The ones I saw looked too thick and undercooked, and around $12. I settled on a pretzel ($7) which was alright. A beer ran me $12.75, which was ridiculous. I was still hungry and thirsty after both, but didn’t wanna go broke after thinking about what I spent on tickets and gas and parking ($20) for the game. All just to watch a mediocre lifeless team on the ice, amidst a dead crowd that was in no way helped by the beyond dead in-house game entertainment. You can blame the vendor(s) contracted for the food and drink experience all you want, but someone is overlooking that sh*t. Also, we went early because it was advertised in the news that there was a party in the plaza with food vendors and Sabres Alumni. The only vendor I saw was Moes, and the only Alumni I saw was Pat Kaleta. This organization, as much as I love them, does not have their sh*t together from top to bottom.

You do what teams used to do. You play your checking line against their top line. Have people forgotten this strategy?

Loved the crab post. Nice break in the monotony. Though not exactly the same, I feel his pain. I’ve become lactose intolerant over the last couple years. Anything with cheese absolutely kills me stomach, sometimes to the point of being barely able to move. Do you know what foods have cheese in/on them??? Some of the best ones!!!

This thread is possibly more depressing than being at the actual game was.
-
That’s what you mean want to believe. They spent the day trying to decide on the best Buffalo Pizza, and their stomachs are still trying to digest. Dahlin is up 5 pounds.
-
Just a guess, but they don’t have the channel lineup loaded correctly. IIRC, this was common when I had DTV, and I used to get nervous when I didn’t see the Sabres broadcast on 635-1.

Sounds like he’s got tons of speed, a great attitude, and excellent work ethic. Has offensive potential, is physical when needed, and is a chameleon that can fit in on any line when needed. Also sounded to be a fan favorite. Considering he was able to crack the Stars lineup for a full season, and Baptiste was never able to crack the Sabres last-place lineup - sounds like an improvement over Bailey, Baptiste, and hopefully the soon departed Larsson.

He also didn’t retire until what? 2012?
