One of the lousiest hockey games that I have been to in a long time. Amerks did nothing right. I didn’t think any of them played a solid game. Passing was bad, shooting was bad, PP was bad, no energy, very little hustle. Team was chasing the Comets most of the night. Quinn was useless. I don’t think I’ve ever been at a game where a team had their goalie pulled with 12 minutes left in the game. Crowd wasn’t helping much, either, not like on Sunday.

He must’ve had an excellent HS transcript and recommendation letters from his teachers to be able to get accepted into Notre Dame.

Whoa.

My pure speculation, regarding Quinn, is that he’s stuck in his own head at the moment. Yes, Belleville and Utica have given him the business, pressuring him, but he’s been giving it back. He has the skill to overcome it, but his brain is probably overthinking. He wants to be the difference-maker, but he’s gripping the stick instead of relaxing. He had a perfect opportunity to end the game yesterday near the end of the 3rd, wide open in the slot, and he rifled his shot right over the net. The Quinn of the regular season would’ve scored that goal. He has been getting his chances, but the passes and shots haven’t been executed in the way that he can do them. Yet.

Quinn only has 1 point in 5 playoff games. You might be better off with Power, Peyton, and Peterka.

What a great game to experience. I can’t remember the last time I saw BCA sold out for a game. Was cool to chat with veterans like Metcalfe, Hoffard, and Langdon before the game. Refs were almost as terrible as they were at the Belleville game last week. Amerks played hard in the 3rd, and I saw a few Comets rolling their eyes with exhaustion after whistles. Nice to see the boys throwing the body around - even saw Quinn and Rooster throw checks. Pretty sure the corner section I was in heckled Russo bad enough to throw him off his game at the end of the 3rd. Fans were awesome, and the building was LOUD. Cant wait for Tuesday!

Why is there a ROR argument going on in an Amerks thread? Take that stuff somewhere else.

I counted 3. I’m not even clear what you are trying to say here. Talent and grit together are bad?

Just curious. When you guys are saying “I want so and so,” have you actually watched them play in full games, or are you basing your want on highlight clips and media opinions?

The bolded is the part that I don’t understand. Like I said, Laaksonen wasn’t exactly a defensive juggernaut, but the AHL is a development league, and Oskari is only 22, and it looked like he had been getting better the first few months of the season. What is the point of replacing his spot with a handful of ECHL dudes in their mid-20’s, instead of continuing to let Laaksonen learn and develop?

If the league is moving towards a more open offensive style, then why would he get another gig quickly? Isn't LV more built for offense instead of what Trotz specializes in?

RE: earlier posts... Did Laaksonen fall off of a cliff? The times I saw him earlier in the season, he was making really good passes, getting shots through from the point, and his vision and creativity looked great. Was he exceptional defensively? No. But it looked to me like he was improving in that area. I think the last time I saw him, he had 4 or 5 assists in a game against the Comets back in January, and he looked sound defensively. Then I didn’t see any games at all until the recent playoff game. Did something happen where he completely fell off of a cliff in the last couple months???

That’s not a good enough excuse.

Why? He never played for the Leaves.

It’s making me feel regressed.
