  1. I think if Murray wants him, he will pay that price.

Maybe I'm reading too much into the Fasching deal, but I think Murray has no problem getting aggressive for a guy he wants.

It might not be this one, but I fully expect him to make a trade soon that Darcy never would and one that we might have trouble swallowing.

Except they aren't available right now. We wanted an aggressive GM and I think we are going to see one in action.

we'll see him at the draft, when he knows if he has #1 #2 #3 pick.

  2. Again, I don't understand the argument that he would not also be in the top four on other teams. He's well within the scoring range and his numbers reflect that if anything he'd be even more solid in a top four role on a team that isn't the Sabres.

He's almost definitely a top four defenseman on a team that actually has an offense.

I'm with you on this, i can't see him spending time in the AHL next year, not like Murray will pull 4 NHL ready d-men that are better than him out of his hat in the summer.

  3. The flip side is your working when everyone else is off. Only in places like Buffalo (bars open til 4) and NYC does this work.

Yeah and try finding people to go out with you on a monday or tuesday.

Told my buddies, oh you expect me to go out boozing till 05.00 am on a weekend that im working but then you go out with me on monday to :p

  4. Being from Winnipeg, let me be the first to tell you, we do not want Kane. Since the thrashers relocated I have wanted this guy gone. As far as the asking price, I don't care what issues he has(he has many), Chevaldayoff is a strong believer in the jets core. Take a look for yourself at what he has done. Virtually nothing of value. A few waiver pickups and minor trades. Kane is having season ending surgery. The jets players, management and fans would all like to see this guy gone tomorrow, but give your head a shake if you think your getting him for any less the Moulson and a 2nd. I am not saying we should pay that, but a scoring winger is what it will take to get him, and the sabres are in no way shape or form able to pay that. Even if he pulls a Seguin, which he very well could, I still don't want him.

To be honest, don't think i want a guy on this team who tweets himself doing push ups with a pile of cash on his back.

  5. Or he gets sat for reasons that have nothing to do with what we see on the ice. I understand the love affair that is going on with many of you and Zadarov but don't be surprised if he is one of the "wow" pieces in a trade. Totally just a wild guess here but I think the kid may have serious work ethic issues.

well he is a kid, i'd expect him to have work ethic issues, certainly seeing his playfull attitude during games :D

  6. I'll continue to disagree with the majority of our fan base - I still see Myers as overrated, especially his offensive game.

I also think that a lot of statements out of Nolan and Murray these days are made to drive up trade value.

Its not that he will be our future 1 - 2 D, but at 5 mill per season, he'll be affordable #3-4 in 2 years.

  7. That's pretty crazy... I never would've guessed Stafford's stats were better than Vermette's.  I'm not opposed to him being traded if the return is good.

As far as Myers, it sounds like at least Nolan is hoping he isn't traded:

I'm not surprised, stafford is very underated , would love to see him play with a decent center once.

  8. Believe it or not, there hasn't been found to be much of any relationship between team quality and a goaltender's sv%. Whether his down year is due to the randomness of goaltending, that maybe his previous seasons were only good due to randomness, or because the rigors of starting really are making a difference from being a backup...I cannot say. But I'm very confident that he hasn't proven to be a capable starter with his performance this season, and I would not want to invest even a 4 year $16MM contract in him.

You'll have to invest it in someone, and frankly if you can't sign the likes of Niemi in the offseason, he is your best option at the moment.

  9. Not super surprising.  Word was that Murray was looking for Larkin, Sheahan/Jurco, and a 1st.  Larkin's (15th overall) been playing great at UM this season with 30 points in 21 games, Sheahan (21st overall) has been gradually developing, Jurco (35th overall) has showed more promise with a point per game last year in the A.

In other words, the assets that were asking for started to show their potential ability at higher levels, likely increasing their price.  That said, Detroit has worked their way well back into the playoff hunt, and may be more desperate or willing to surrender assets to settle their blue line.

yeah but they can solve that alot easier, with UFA 's like green, franson, petry or zidlicky without having to give up much.   They won't break the bank for Myers.

  10. Again yes if you count the two kings teams.  Which is why building a team tough enough for the playoffs is important.

I wouldn't trade would it would take for Phil Kessel.

That said the rumored asking price for O'Reilly = 1st rnd pick, 2 top prospects, good young player.  So if Buffalo were to trade I would guess it would be something like Ristolainen, Zemgus, 1st rnd pick and Armia... ###### that.

indeed that is to much for me, guess some are saying same about myers, allthought myers is locked up for 4 more years.

  11. I like the idea of Jagr

Just imagine Jagr ending his career with a most recent Superstar after he began his career next to one.

True but i'd like justin williams as well though.
