Erhoff is being seen an an x-factor in the penguins line up coming season. Now this has been crossing my mind for a while now.

The way i see it, Erhoff chose 3 years ago to become a sabre, granted the contract was nice, but i have a feeling he loved it here.

He signed a one year deal with Pittsburgh, if he does well his market value goes way up, would it be crazy for me to think he is just gone for the one year we couldn't sign him

to come back as an ufa in 2015. Because other for his market value going up in a splendid year, i can't see why he only signed a one year deal.

  2. Will this coaching staff be able to draw out some complicated diagrams and be all strategy and X's and O's? No.

Will this coaching staff rip out your jugular and beat you with it if you don't give 100% all the time and battle? Yes.

I'm not really sure about all the X's and O's stuff, i think this one doesn't work without "compete" anyways.

In any sport, if you don't work for it, all the tactics in the book don't matter. And im sure in this coaching staff, there is an X and O guy.

  3. I also read that Ekblad was concussed and is done with the summer training program. I'm not sure how I'd feel if I were a Panthers fan, seeing that play. I don't just mean that the young man was injured (and I hope he recovers) -- I mean that he managed to put himself in that position. What will become of him in the NHL?

was just thinking the same, a guy his size , his head that low, ready to be terminated by gerbe even.

Everyone could have given him a head shot, not even talking about the akward movement of his left knee. This is all about on ice intelligence.

  4. When was the last time that a European football powerhouse broke the bank on a transfer of a US, or Canadian, national footballer.

The grass root level of skill development in NA is just not there yet. It's getting better, but not quite there. The US and Canadian national football programs should be putting in the $ to make it happen, but where do they get that $?

I don't think Barca ... has scouts all over NA searching for the next Messi.

Pretty sure a team like Barca has scouts everywhere, thing is for NA players to break through they would have to start out in competitions like , Portugal, belgium, netherlands, greece, turkey. Those are the leagues right under the big 5 but you have to be willing to take take less money first for that to happen.

Unless you are an absolute talent and the next messi or ronaldo offcourse.

  5. The mistake by the LA Galaxy defender that gave Wayne Rooney a layup of a goal (to make it 3-0) was like watching little league soccer. Horrible.

...and watching MLS teams get blasted by top teams from top leagues make me even more annoyed that USA national team guys are increasingly turning down offers from top leagues to stay in the MLS. Zusi and Besler both re-signed in Kansas City because it is comfortable. But, they're turning down the opportunity to get better against better competition. I don't like the mentality of not wanting to play against the best in the world when you have the opportunity to do so.

Yeah, certainly seeing you can make alot more money in europe to if you are good enough :P

  6. I'm hopeful they get a tactics guy with recent NHL experience in the other slot.

The fact Trottier has been out of the game so long concerns me. Stinks of old boy.

His competitiveness and credibility as a player are big pluses.

If he can mould Reinhart in his image, major win.

I like the way he smells though ;)
