  1. I'll continue to disagree with the majority of our fan base - I still see Myers as overrated, especially his offensive game.

I also think that a lot of statements out of Nolan and Murray these days are made to drive up trade value.

Its not that he will be our future 1 - 2 D, but at 5 mill per season, he'll be affordable #3-4 in 2 years.

  2. That's pretty crazy... I never would've guessed Stafford's stats were better than Vermette's.  I'm not opposed to him being traded if the return is good.

As far as Myers, it sounds like at least Nolan is hoping he isn't traded:

I'm not surprised, stafford is very underated , would love to see him play with a decent center once.

  3. Believe it or not, there hasn't been found to be much of any relationship between team quality and a goaltender's sv%. Whether his down year is due to the randomness of goaltending, that maybe his previous seasons were only good due to randomness, or because the rigors of starting really are making a difference from being a backup...I cannot say. But I'm very confident that he hasn't proven to be a capable starter with his performance this season, and I would not want to invest even a 4 year $16MM contract in him.

You'll have to invest it in someone, and frankly if you can't sign the likes of Niemi in the offseason, he is your best option at the moment.

  4. Not super surprising.  Word was that Murray was looking for Larkin, Sheahan/Jurco, and a 1st.  Larkin's (15th overall) been playing great at UM this season with 30 points in 21 games, Sheahan (21st overall) has been gradually developing, Jurco (35th overall) has showed more promise with a point per game last year in the A.

In other words, the assets that were asking for started to show their potential ability at higher levels, likely increasing their price.  That said, Detroit has worked their way well back into the playoff hunt, and may be more desperate or willing to surrender assets to settle their blue line.

yeah but they can solve that alot easier, with UFA 's like green, franson, petry or zidlicky without having to give up much.   They won't break the bank for Myers.

  5. Again yes if you count the two kings teams.  Which is why building a team tough enough for the playoffs is important.

I wouldn't trade would it would take for Phil Kessel.

That said the rumored asking price for O'Reilly = 1st rnd pick, 2 top prospects, good young player.  So if Buffalo were to trade I would guess it would be something like Ristolainen, Zemgus, 1st rnd pick and Armia... ###### that.

indeed that is to much for me, guess some are saying same about myers, allthought myers is locked up for 4 more years.

  6. I like the idea of Jagr

Just imagine Jagr ending his career with a most recent Superstar after he began his career next to one.

True but i'd like justin williams as well though.

  7. It's hard to imagine these guys if they actually played on a good team . Myers is they only value we have and must get a playmKer that can create on his own . Oreilly is as overrated as myers w no upside compared to myers if he actually is beside someone that teaches him to relax and play hockey . We are the perfect suckers . Since we have cash sign him or anone like him in fa . Larkin and a pick looks more promising . If you gave reinhart two speedy winger one great one and ennis/armia we would have good second line and a good third with our all star at center . If we get luck at our sucking plan we one piece of a first line mc e and we could prob attract two fa to play beside him . That leave one spot on the third line and prod

I can only see Zemgus being moved to the win at the moment, unless we unload grigorenko somewhere.

  8. I wouldn't trade for O'Reilly until this summer and it would definitely have to be a case where we'd have to have a long term extension in place prior to trading him.

He's good, no doubt, and he could definitely help us but based on his track record I see him wanting to reach free agency and go to the highest bitter. No point in trading valuable assets for him unless we could get him locked up long term.

Hah, yeah or trade him to the oilers for their 1st rounder and Yakupov :D

Then we really can have Cojack :D

  9. I think murray is playing hard to get to much, but maybe it will pay off.

2 young players might be asking a bit much lol :D

As on O'Reilly, I wouldn't make that trade without permission from Colorado to start negotiations before that trade is made.

Not that anything good can come out of that, because i can't see his agent telling him to sign long term and not test free agency.
