  1. My locker room experience is heavily influenced by where I live, then. Right in the middle of Hicksville, Southern Tier.
  2. I don't believe you.
  3. I've been listening to Coloring Book by Chance the Rapper pretty much non-stop for the past 4 months. Chance is fantastic, he's got great taste, and his music is much more optimistic than a lot of rap. He's also amazing at collaborating with other artists. I like every single feature on Coloring Book, even the J Biebs one. https://soundcloud.com/chancetherapper/sets/coloring-book
  4. Spliffs are gross. Why ruin a perfectly good joint with tobacco?
  5. On the locker room talk thing, no, we don't need to lighten up. When Trump said that was just locker room talk, he was right. That is the exact kind of bull that men think is okay to say about women behind closed doors. All the people coming out and saying "That's NOT locker room talk, and it gives a bad name to decent men everywhere!" are missing the point. That IS how many men talk, and that's the problem. One of my hockey teams is full of guys that my older brother played with as kids. Their locker room talk makes Trump look like a controlled, esteemed gentleman. Being casually sexist isn't okay. The fact that it's "just a joke" is . It's creating an in-group and out-group. If you don't think it's funny, you're in the out-group and the "joke" wasn't for you anyways.
  6. Ouch on disingenuous. It feels like my mom just edited my 4th grade paper. But it did ring of dishonesty. How could anybody blame the tank while not even mentioning Eichel on the shelf? As for Eichel not being at McDavid's level, that's true. But Eichel will still be an elite no BS top line center. With the supporting cast of O'Reilly and Reinhart down the middle, there'd have to be some sort of disaster for us not to become a contender in 2/3 years.
  7. Twitter is NOT on the way out. Even if it was, a similar social media site would pick up the sword twitter let fall. As for twitter followers not wanting that info, I disagree. I know tons of people that follow football, hockey, and basketball games on twitter while they're working. If the OFFICIAL SABRES TWITTER can't even manage that task, then what value are they really adding?
  8. I don't think it's fair to say a fancystats coach. Byslma is into analytics, he just doesn't seem to draw the right conclusions. People are clamoring for a good coach. One of the main reasons for the tank was to acquire gamebreaking talents, and our future superstar is on the bench. So criticizing the tank when our prize for tanking isn't even on the ice feels disengenuous.
  9. I think in order to absorb the loss of Eichel the lines need to be balanced better (Samson at center). I also think that without Eichel to carry the puck in, Bylsma's emphasis on dump and chase is magnified. McCabe, Kulikov, and Bogo have been looking good enough to give Risto more rest. Risto has always been a methodical player, and last year it was clear that Byslma was leaning on him hard, so it was kinda justified to have Risto flip the puck in once he gets across the red line. But Risto needs to become more aggressive, and Bylsma needs to coach Risto to play to his strengths. Play Risto with Kulikov, and tell him to keep the puck on the rush as often as he can. The problem might be, at its core, that Bylsma isn't aggressive enough.
  10. Didn't watch the game. Sounds like the right decision. As for "This is why we were opposed to the tank" Yikes.
  11. I'm going to a jam tonight. Probably won't get a chance to watch this one until tomorrow night.
  12. I saw Vanek smile last night. It was weird.
  13. :) I love it. I read it out loud to myself in my best smarmy radio voice.
  14. Those are some preposterous apostrophes.
  15. I don't think you can say that with Eichel in the lineup we'd be having the same breakdowns. If Eichel was in the lineup we'd have significantly more offensive zone time, and when we're playing offense we don't have to defend. That's a concept that Bylsma doesn't seem to understand. Putting Gorges out during OT shows that Bylsma puts a lot more emphasis on playing defense the right way rather than driving possession.
  16. I don't really follow. Their D-zone play was better?
  17. Jack was the only player last year that didn't dump and chase. Kane would dump it to himself, usually too far. I don't buy the "learning a systen in parts" defense that a lot of people have given for Bylsma. The Leafs looked like a much more structured team last year than we did, despite the fact that they were tanking. I don't think Bylsma's system is going to change, I think this is it.
  18. Kulikov looks good enough to skate on the top pairing now. Risto looks like he needs the help, too. Not a great showing from him. Our players still seem like they have no idea what to do in 3 on 3. Our reaction generally seems to be retreat and wait. And then we eventually cough up the puck. The 2 D gimmick to start overtime is being wayyyy too cute. It's starting us in a position of defensiveness. Our 3 on 3 deployment is meek from the outset. It wouldn't be so bad if it was Kulikov instead of Gorges, though. Reinhart instead of Ennis for the bench minor was hilarious.
  19. I mean, that's part of the game. I'd still much rather see a more open game. It's not like grinding will ever be eliminated entirely.
  20. Blech. So many times we just chipped the puck aimlessly up the boards 5 on 5, even guys like Risto and Okposo. Dan's system is brutal. The team looked really composed in the first. Foligno is an above average fourth liner. I can't wait to get him off the third.
  21. Fasching has looked pretty invisble to me. Don't mind D-Lo over him.
  22. 2 units on th' 'bres.
  23. Democrats want so badly to look better than the GOP that they donate 13,000 dollars to hateful racists. God I hate American politics.
