I would give nothing Chan did in the last game a second thought. He mailed it in the whole game, knowing the Jets would be mailing it in even harder. The entire game, the play calling was 1st and 2nd down: Run. 3rd down: Pass. Chan saw the writing on the wall.

Holy overstatement. Leo has not been playing as bad as people say. You'd think the guy is sodomizing people's mothers every time he touches the ice. I was a bit drunk, but I watched the game closely and liked what I saw from Leo on the most part. He had some brutal plays, but I thought this was one of his strongest games so far (not saying much).

Nice first period. We're dominating a lesser opponent. Foligno's still looking good after last game, so I can start worrying a little less about him. That goal was a combination of unlucky, and being Miller's fault. The calls after the fight were brutal. What kind of f*cking officiating is that? He'll come back, just a ten minute misconduct.

You can only blame yourself for the first and third loss. The second one was my fault because I was at the game. The Sabres have never won in front of me.

I have no idea whether or not getting rid of them is the right thing or "true" as you put it. That wasn't what I was saying. And there are a lot of people on this board who think the same thing who certainly weren't just saying it because others were.

Maybe it's just taking over as the position that most want. I'm not totally on board with it, but it says something if every single guy says the same thing.

I agree that the motivation should come from within, but I've seen these guys play their guts out. Given, it was only when their backs were against the wall (end of the last 2 seasons), but some of the responsibility definitely lies on the coach's shoulders. The fact that they can go all out and be a good team makes me think that it may take a coach beating it out of them for them to give it every night. I don't think that coach is Lindy anymore.

Good post (and a nice post by pi upthread). As for the bolded, I would argue that Lindy struggles to get his guys going. Lindy's message is stale to the players and he doesn't seem to be able to a light a fire under them on most nights. I think our team has enough skill, but not the desire.
