Drew Stafford currently has 3 assists (leading the team in assists and tied for the lead for points). He is a great play maker. I cannot deny that when he is on the ice, hockey plays happen.

He's not ready for the NHL. Not even slightly ready to engage men in puck battles. I don't hate the idea of playing him between a couple of tough SOBs, but he's not joining in yet, so our 4th line is basically useless. Hodgson, Moulson, and Ennis will all look better when we're actually playing them with other real hockey players.

It seems to me that Teddy thinks the best way to compete with a talent depletee deprived roster is to play the simplest game possible. You could be right.

Ghost, can you explain the deficiencies you've seen in Sammy's game? I've only seem one game live this year so I haven't had a chance to watch the WRs much, unless they're being thrown to. From what I've seen Sammy is open on almost every play, and has great hands. Orton has been really impressive at the end of quarter 4. He's good for at least 3-5 boneheaded plays a game, but gets it done when it matters. He doesn't look good enough to me to beat good teams consistently, though. I think with better offensive coaching we could be in the mix for a playoff spot. Right now, I think we're 8-8 at best.

I was criticizing Rob Ray for saying Stafford did a nice job addressing the hit by cuddling with the player for a couple of seconds and doing nothing. Rob Ray knows Stafford didn't do a good job. Don't BS us, Rob. On the other hand, I loved hearing him man crush over Deslauriers.

That Rage parody flipped so many notes and played them in reverse order. That bothered the ###### ###### out of me. Don't ###### with iconic guitar lines for no reason.

Myers is the best Sabres skater right now. He appears to me to be thinking significantly faster than our forwards, and much more consistently creative on offense. His game in his own end is a work in progress, but it's miles beyond where he was last year. On a team with real forwards, Myers gets all his flashy stats and nobody doubts he's a top pairing guy.

Thinking about all those stretch reaction saves he made last night is making me nervous. If Nolan keeps this up Enroth isn't going to get a chance to show his stuff over an entire season.
