  1. There will be no change at GM anytime soon. New contract extension combined with ownerships firm belief in Regier is a given. With that said, I do agree with you in that changing the Captain is a moot point. Changing the roster is where results will be seen with this team IMHO.
  2. Couldn't agree more, it wasn't Ott that won this game, it was Enroth for sure. Glad for Ott, getting 2 goals and the OT winner, but without the play of Enroth, Ott never gets that opportunity. So reminiscent of a Sabres team, use the Goalie as the pillar to win the game. After all, it's not like this team can get any type of sustained forecheck going. Typical though, and I suspect that won't change anytime soon.
  3. ???? I fail to see any trades they sent scoring packing for grit outside of the Roy/Ott trade. And I am sure Derek Roy wasn't the savior of the team given the fact the team was going nowhere fast to start with him on it.
  4. Well, it would serve Sabres fans to bare the following in mind when it comes to Regier: 1. He is on a bunch of NHL committees 2. He was recommended by Jeremy Jacobs, owner of the Boston Bruins with heavy ties to WNY, current chairman of the NHL Board of Governers and a large contributor of the F'N Center being built 3. A new contract extension was just given to him 4. Pegula and company obviously think very highly of him These aren't the only points to be made, but the main ones in my mind in any event. I know many here aren't going to like to hear it, but I don't believe Regier is going anywhere any time soon, but that's just my opinion on the situation. I do believe they could bring in an assistant GM, as many have pointed out however.
  5. hahaha, I agree by the way I'll just never figure out how in the hell these "trade Myers" while he's worth something fans do not see their very thoughts on this are contradictions in themselves in the reasoning. Let's see, trade him while he's worth somethin......... is he not worth something here? I would have to believe that since he still has a ton of upside in his career as far as potential goes, he could flourish right here in Buffalo as a potential Norris Trophy winner given the right system and partner to play with, no? Am I missing something on this? LOL Once again grumpy, completely agree
  6. This is the fans entertainment for the season in lieu of actually playing hockey to win games :P
  7. hahaha, I like this response. You could have added that the fax machine repair guy isn't available until April 5th ;)
  8. More like 5 years behind the younger generation, how about 32 years behind us older fans.
  9. Credible Link? And why on earth wouldn't Anaheim re-sign Perry?, they have plenty of cap space to do so, even at a similar amount to Getzlaf, although, Perry won't command quite that much. And Perry's contract is up this year, Miller has a year left, there would be surety's that Perry would re-sign in Buffalo. I don't believe Anaheim is in a bad position netminder wise, and I'm not saying it couldn't happen, I'm merely pointing out the cons to your offer.
  10. I seriously doubt that. Any GM, new or other wise, is going to be looking for building blocks, obviously Myers would be one of those. I still chuckle at those who believe he needs to be moved, that's just not the case here IMO. The kid is much more valuable to the Sabres then to any other organization, if he's so bad we have to move as some suggest, why would you move him when his value is low due to his performance? That makes no sense. And for those saying he needs to go just because he sucks, that's also not the case, the kid is going through growing pains and as others have pointed out, it takes a bit to develop an NHL defensemen. I look to his partner in his rookie season, Tallinder. Many discount the success Myers had with him, I don't. It shows something, another mistake by Regier. It wasn't Myers ability that shot him up the charts, it was Tallinder's presence to as a veteran to cover for Myers while he shot into the offensive zone that made the difference there, he hasn't had a partner like that since Tallinder left. The bottom line from my point of view is this, Myers hasn't regressed all that much, Buffalo's defensive corps has really gotten that bad around him though.
  11. Tyler Myers isn't going anywhere, this conversation is moot. He'll develop, how high? Only he himself knows, but he's a bargain at that cap hit for that length of time. I don't know why so many people even consider this kid as movable given the problem isn't PMD men, it's stay at home, shut down types. We'll get a partner to pair with him that has the skills, that will elevate his skill set.
  12. This posts remark about quick pass and back the bench is a majority of what I see from the kid as well. With the season all but lost, I don't see how it could hurt the kid to see more minutes and with better talent so he can both adjust to the speed of the game (if that is indeed what he needs) as well as have some positive fun putting his skills to use with players that can actually finish and a more regular basis as opposed to the 3rd and 4th liners. I see no harm in it.
  13. Yea, I can't see them moving him either, contract ending or not next season. I like the idea of Drouin for sure, but would prefer Mackinnon. Ennis back on wing is a possibility, I don't think Ennis is thriving as much at center, but I could be wrong, someone I'm sure has a comparison on his stats at both positions. The one thing that baffles me on this season is the coaching staff's inability to get Grigorenko much more ice time with at least 1 winger to roll with, maybe they are waiting for Armia, who knows.
  14. Let me guess, he's not getting traded, but is actually enroute to Vatican City to ascend to the Room of Tears as he takes up his duly electec position of holy father of the papacy, whereby the rumors continue in that he has chosen the pias name of MillerTime the 1st ;) Just wondering if this rumor is out there yet :)
  15. Interesting tweet on Corey Perry as well from Anaheim.
  16. When quoting players, those aren't bucky's words. I find the comments from both Vanek and Miller to be far different than towing the company line, so to speak. Miller comes right out and says, how long? Vanek, I'm of the opinion he's resigned to the fact of staying in Buffalo, but that is merely my opinion on his comment. To state that is Bucky being Bucky does nothing to cover the players own words though.
  17. In the past 5 seasons, I would normally hands down agree with you nfreeman in your comments here, however, from the players own mouths, Vanek and Miller, in this article: http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130312/SPORTS/130319736/1004 That to me, in any event, is very telling indeed.
  18. I wouldn't read to much into it on that end, Kyper's connected though, So I would have to assume they are looking to the future, and that's fine. I don't have a problem with that. It's time to move away from the continuous failed seasons and build a contender here, I don't personally believe Miller is a significant contributor to the future of the club, and understand, I think he's a dam good goalie, I just feel it's time to move on is all.
  19. I wouldn't put it past the Sabres to move beyond Miller, he would bring in some pieces that could be beneficial on the entertainment side of the game in the way of offensive consistency. Then again, he could be going nowhere any time soon :)
  20. This says it all right here, post of the year without question IMHO.
  21. I'm posting the next day, I guess I must be the lowest of the low then ;) But, I'm not posting to speak on the obvious, that we suck and we have sucked since LQ/DR/LR dismantled a perennial contender. The short comings on this team are right there for all to see, lack of talent with the puck, to include but not limited to puck control in transition, puck control along the boards, hustle to gain puck control, maintaining a viable offensive zone attack, defensive sluggishness...etc...etc.... I'm actually posting on a couple of positives, the younger guys from Rochester appear hungry, they are on the puck quick when they are on the ice I've noticed. Also, with regard to Enroth, no he's not at Miller's level, but I would hope posters would take into consideration he is playing behind the same defense Miller is and Miller isn't exactly finding success himself. Just something to ponder is all. One last thing, we need to be all over Correy Perry if he is indeed available and we'll be needing another LW'er that can net 20 - 25 a season as well.
