  1. I tend to agree. McNabb is the replacement for Leopold?, Regehr?. Take your pick really, but I'll say Leo.
  2. I haven't seen a posted link to a list, so I don't know. I'm not even sure if these RDS guys are always square up, but, I'd figure I would throw it out there.
  3. Interesting observations and the scenario possibilities are viable. Would I trade Pomer's for Nash? Yes, absolutely. After looking at Nash's frustrations in the CBJ organization, I can believe he'll be a key piece (if acquired) in a serious run. Does he bring the same type of game as Pominville? We all know he doesn't but Pomer's had some stability in the line up in so far as key core personnel around him for a number of years. I realize Ruff shifted the line, but Pomer's found success season after season in the category of consistency. That accounts for quite a bit. His defense in his 2 way game is very good as well. Nash has more size and has a step on Pomer's. Ruff can bring the defensive game up, we are all aware, the question for me in that decision would be the offensive production. Vanek and Nash on the wings with Hodgson or the young russian centering? Interesting to ponder to be sure.
  4. Luc Gelinas ‏@LucGelinasRDS For my english friends: The Sabres have not finished moving. A very reliable source assures me they are working hard to get Rick Nash
  5. Many of us older fans who remember the Bobby Clarke hockey style care. I agree with Sabres1970, A good FN center beat down of the Bruins in general would be more than welcomed, I don't care if it's Lucic answering the bell against Scott.
  6. Any Sabres rumors out there besides the Bobby Ryan whispers?
  7. Bucky Gleason - TBN "Largely lost on a busy day across the NHL was the Sabres continued interest in Ducks winger Bobby Ryan. A source close to the 25-year-old winger Sunday said the Sabres were among the teams angling to make a deal. It falls in line with Ryan-to-Buffalo rumors that began last season after the Ducks and Sabres crawled through the first three months." Not that I don't believe Bucky, but this is just recycled information to me. Does Bucky ever write something with original thought?
  8. http://sabres.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=636880 Guy is a monster at 6' 8" tall and 270 lbs. I'm guessing there will be a couple of d-men moving via trade.
  9. The needs in Anaheim are not remotely close to the needs in Columbus. Two entirely different scenario's there. Our team is indeed broken, hence the fix via shuffling players out and bringing players in. If you don't believe your witnessing a roster turn over (even if Vanek, Pomer's and Stafford are still here) then may I suggest looking at the departures of Lydman and Tallinder up to the current day. I submit that there is indeed a roster turn over happening right now, and the actions by Regier, not only before Pegula but also and especially following Pegula's arrival on the scene (which is more than apparent that moment accelerated the process) have been moving in that direction. Bobby Ryan is exactly the type of player to be brought in. Not just him either, but an addition of such a scoring threat with a physical game has proven in Anaheim he is more than worthy of the price to pay for him. Mind you, I'm not calling him the second coming, merely stating that if you truly want to see a Stanley Cup parade in downtown Buffalo, Bobby Ryan would go a long way toward attempting to achieve that goal in any serious manner.
  10. Ennis won't be going anywhere. When Darcy mentioned not messing with chemistry, I am more than sure he was speaking directly about Foligno, Ennis and Stafford. Not that Stafford couldn't be upgraded with Bobby Ryan, but I don't see anyone of these 3 going anywhere.
  11. For the D pairings I just listed them by pair.
  12. What happened to Ehrhoff? I'd like to see this next season: Vanek - Hodgson - Ryan Foligno - Ennis - Stafford Gerbe - Grigorenko - Pominville Leino - McClement - McCormick Myers - McNabb Regher - Sekera Ehrhoff - Sulzter Leopold? I suspect in a trade for Bobby Ryan, a couple of players would be on the move, such as Roy, McNabb, and maybe even Sekera/Leopold, although admittedly, it doesn't help that Leopold has 1 year left like Roy.
  13. Could be. Darcy dropped the que in his interview on it being a deep draft defensively. And I'd be ok with that as well. I have to believe if we are the Niagara Falls of young stud d men, that's cool, they eventually have to be worth something....:)
  14. I'm a cup half filled kind of guy (hence the screen name). I wouldn't be upset in the least bit if they used all 4 picks to restock the cupboard with 3 forwards and a netminder with those picks. Hey, at least Rochester will be competitive in a few years ;)
  15. Wow! Remind me again the stats of Ennis, Foligno and Stafford for the entire season. They don't look like impressive, elite scoring line stats to me. And Foligno was late in the season, not the entire season. I'm not saying that the line isn't good, and since I don't know the player in question, let's speculate a bit. On Ennis and Foligno, who appeared to have the chemistry more so than Stafford, I'd keep them. Stafford on the other hand has been inconsistent since his arrival on the Sabres roster. If a deal to upgrade his position on that line can be had, it should be made in my opinion. But, since we don't know the player in question, I can't say it was Stafford.
  16. This is where your view of that line and mine differ. True, they had chemistry for the short duration they were together, but Stafford's inconsistency sticks out like a sore thumb.
  17. This is counter-productive to the goal of Cup contention. If you can move Stafford to upgrade the position, you do it, if the price is right.
  18. According to Snow, who is in Pitt for WGR, he stated that he interviewed Regier this morning and that Darcy confirmed he was offered something for the 21st pick and turned it down. Snow was speaking on WGR with Kevin Sylvester at the time. Edit: Kevin Snow also stated Regier turned down a roster player trade, he didn't want to disrupt chemistry.
  19. LeBrun thinks Regier has already called the Blue Jackets about Rick Nash, and would be shocked if they didn’t call the Ducks about Bobby Ryan who may be available now.
  20. Sabres are in hard on Ryan and still speaking with CBJ about Nash.
  21. There we go. And thank you. I am not aware of who is an insider and who is just blowin' smoke up our arse, but I read enough on this board before I joined to realize many of you do. With that said, Regier stated the Sabres were looking at area's to upgrade, and where they could, they would attempt to do so. I have rationalize that Bobby Ryan is a significant upgrade over Drew Stafford and therefore, deduce that Regier and Murray either have had conversations on Ryan or currently are.
  22. NHLwiki ‏@NHLwiki #NHL *Rumor*-- #HNIC's Elliotte Friedman reports that the #Sabres are trying to swing a trade with the #NHLDucks for Bobby Ryan.
