  1. I disagree. You have to know something about what your attempting to coordinate and organize or you flounder about without accomplishing a dam thing. And I still don't like the choice, it just reeks of political reasoning. As a citizen, I demand my officials make decisions based on common sense and sound reasoning, not on political patronage.
  2. X.Benedict has solved the equation.......... Nicely played sir.....nicely played. I'd put in the hand clap video clip, but I can never seem to remember how. While I was typing it I actually thought of a question Sully might ask :) If the season continues as is, some fans may actually make sure Nolan doesn't walk......... No, and I agree, keep Nolan for the entire season. Hey, maybe he'll hit the right note on one of his motivational speech moments to the players just after Jan. and the record, while still last place, won't look so bad. Then again, maybe it's not butter...........
  3. Oh, I'm not asking you not to be involved. I'm merely pointing out the 2 party monopoly and how it affects those who are the base supporters of each side. It is your duty, and yes, I'm more than happy that your involved, wish many more were. My venom is directed directly at you as venom per say, my opinion and in lieu of what I've witnessed in my lifetime combined with historical attributes of the situation, I am only saying that individual citizens such as yourself may be better served looking at candidates outside of the 2 party system. Yes GCOE, I realize the "strength in numbers" paradigm and the reasoning behind sacrificing some stances on issues, not on substance in those cases, but more on priority of issue. I have refrained for the most part, as you can attest to, from straight out using what language I'd like to use about these 2 political parties. And by not supporting either one, it hasn't taken away my ability as an individual citizen in participation of the process one bit.
  4. Agreed on coaching styles, disagree on outcome. Teddy did get the most out of that squad back in the 90's, of course, it helped immensely having Dom back stopping your team. As for Lindy, it helped having Dom, then didn't when he left, it helped having Drury/Briere then didn't when they left. I would surmise that skill or skill/leadership in those cases are what made the difference, not coaching styles. I believe they both had the same out come, no Stanley Cups. And what's with the apples and oranges analogies I'm seeing in many threads these days? They are both fruit. If anything, we should be saying "it's like comparing apples and Reese's peanut butter cups" They are both delicious, but only one is recommended by physicians :P
  5. Well then, this only goes to reinforce my belief, as an independent, that you democrats and republican supporters are just sheep, being led around by the nose. Each side of you, whether it be one party or another, just followers, no leaders. All I see is "I support this one, or, I support that one" with no actual substance on who those individuals are. Your following party lines, talking points and, forgive me if you've heard this before, but, your following lies from individuals who know the only way to get your vote as a base supporter, is in point of fact, to lie to you. Wake up man, and that goes for the other side as well. Being a sheep is not cutting it, that should be more than obvious. Stop voting the party lines, start looking at real candidates that don't need the 2 party monopoly system.
  6. It should, since historically, those situations that have found success on the management side of things 9 times out of 10 come from the field they manage. This isn't rocket science, see Mr. Brown/FEMA for further evidence. And there are millions more examples. As you said, "maybe" it's this guy, but we aren't talking about stocking the dairy section at Wegman's here. Were talking about human lives, and in this case, American citizens lives that, by the way, shouldn't have been exposed to this danger the way we were to begin with. I submit that the Obama administration, from Obama himself on down to every person that works for him in his immediate circle are either A.) Incompetent, or B.) Really don't give a ###### one way or the other as long as they have their job, or C.) Straight out criminal, see IRS, ACA and other programs for example. This is without a doubt, the worst period, administration in my lifetime period. and most likely it's not going to get better period. This country is ######...........
  7. Good Morning Ted Nolan, so, how does it feel to be coaching a team of players that can't score a goal to save your job?
  8. Any player that can actually score more than 1 goal in 8 games
  9. Or, after all of these delightfully funny comments, could it just be that the teams youth is only 5 games in to their first or second season and have yet to find the chemistry, combined with the veterans, what there are on this team, just mailing it in for the paychecks? Could it be..........? And as for Tyler Myers, like the rest of the Sabres that were packing, he'll be thankful when it's his turn, and I'm guessing sooner rather than later in his mind. So, who is at fault for this? One man, one name stands out amongst all others.................................Darcy Regier!!!!! After all, it's still a great deal of his product in the youth you see on the ice or in the pipeline. The man who couldn't find the fax machine power switch is almost solely to blame for this mess. TM and company (Nolan included) have a monumental task in front of them, it won't happen over night, not with the damage that was done to this organization since 2007. Money wasn't the issue after Pegula's arrival, personnel decisions were because Regier remained at the helm of a ship destined to hit the rocks time and again.
  10. I bit of drama there, don't you agree? No reason to seem remotely surprised by the string of events. A decision was made to tear it down and build anew after the first couple of years of throwing money at it didn't work. As you hear my state over and over again, it must be said again, patience is what is required here. Attacks on ownership are a moot situation. We have an owner, the team is in full on rebuild in accordance with a plan set forth, now, we just have to be patient and see if Mr. Pegula's advisors and management team are up to the task and worth a grain of salt.
  11. It took all of the teams you list longer than 3 years to find success.
  12. lol, agreed. The rebuild is going take longer than the 2 to 3 years being touted to the fan base however. But then, the fan base, at least the die hards, have most likely witnessed what has gone on in Edmonton and Florida and even Columbus and should realize were looking at a 4 to 5 year process to even contend on a serious scale for the cup. All of what is happening really shouldn't be surprising.
  13. Well, that was inspiring hockey........I won't mention what it inspires me to, but it did none the less.........
  14. Why shut him up? Does the 1st amendment not apply to him as well? And how does he hurt my cause as a conservative? Does he have some magic powers that dumb down the over all American populace, or was that multiple administrations, both Dems and Repubs, Liberal and Conservative, who have done that?
  15. No argument here GCOE. I concur 100%. I think we've hashed over the start of the US's deep involvement in the Middle East, I also think we've given ample examples of where that entanglement has gotten us over 60+ years now. What's done is done, and cannot be undone. Historically, we are, as a nation, the bad guys in that part of the world, and I give no justification for us doing so remotely worthy when compared with the extent of the human suffering and lives lose to those policies. In the end, we once were a nation that wore the white hat and stood for justice and truth, even if for fleeting moments in history, that no longer is the case. If we can agree on these basic premises, then I have to look at the current set of circumstances we find ourselves in. The genie is out of the bottle, so to speak. It's kill or be killed, as I do not believe for one second that diplomacy is going to end the hatred toward our nation. It's a death match, and in such, I'd prefer my family, friends and myself be on the winning side. As an individual, I do not have it in my power to correct what once was right back to the path of justice and truth. As a community at large, we do. In the interim, the war currently being fought is one of ideology, and although we are not a perfect nation, I prefer our position as opposed to groups such as ISIS. Therefore, as a citizen, I submit that nothing short of unconditional surrender or, if they so chose, wipe them off the face of the earth, is the appropriate actions to take. After all, this is a fight to the death. Point well made, but don't confuse my loyalty to the Constitution as a signed, sealed and delivered oath from myself to current administrations that run our governing bodies. Not to be a broken record, but I'm sure you've seen me state time and again that the Constitution and the ideology which promoted it's very inception is where you will find me. But I don't disagree with your sentiment that the lines are blurred for many citizens, black and white all of a sudden come with a gray hazy area in the middle. That is where I believe, in any event, that the choices between right and wrong, good and evil, manifest themselves in to what we see before us today.
  16. I won't argue the ideology aspects of the subject matter, in many ways you are correct and I'd not be using common sense to state such, especially when it comes to the de-regulatory subject matter. But, with that said, it is a known constant that due to the overwhelming turn around in that area, ingenuity is being stifled, and in some cases, confiscated by the government itself. I'd so wish to put forth documented situations, but the MNDA's I am under make that an impossibility. As for bombs to the health care, I don't want you to think that I have no compassion to the analogy usage, but in the end, I have no responsibility save a morale one to the citizens of the Middle East, the United States however, of which I am a citizen, I have direct responsibility towards, both as a former federal employee (US military) as well as that title I previously mentioned, citizen. It may appear at first glance as though those 2 should have correlation, but when put into the context of where loyalties need to lay based on such foundations as survival, empowerment, rights and civilized societal structures, I'll be standing on the side of the line in the sand that says "United States of America" every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
  17. Coffee through nostrils, good thing I'm not a French Vanilla guy :P
  18. Just goes to show you how deep the rabbit hole is in D.C. The entire situation was still fubar, but, while I was there it was known small cache';s of WMD were found. He didn't and yes, they still did. The NYT's story pretty much confirms it wasn't a lie in the over all context of the subject, but, with that said, yes Swamp, the case made before the UN and America People was pure made up nonsense. And here is the sad part, not one individual was held responsible on any serious scale for the deception that occured. Kind of like Obama, Pelosi and the Democrats with the ACA, oh, you won't lose your coverage.............................yeah, ok. And the monster that is the 2 headed political hack party system rears it's ugly head these days with out even an effort to hide itself specifically because not one person is held accountable. I submit to you the Bush administration was dangerous, the Obama administration is far more dangerous. The Cheney/Wolfiwitz doctrine was exterior mainly, meaning foreign policy, that's bad enough, but, the Obama/Clinton/Pelosi doctrine is far more dangerous as it targets freedoms provided to us directly by the Constitution. Situations such as using the IRS to target political foes, lying about a monster program such as the ACA, direct ties between the EPA and environmental groups, crippling American ingenuity in more than some cases along with a host of other issues. No, I stand by my assessment on the American political landscape, until we citizens truly wake up, were f###ed!
  19. I haven't been able to keep up with the overall Zad's scenario, can someone let me know exactly why Nolan won't play him?
  20. I'm not overly concerned about the Isles so early in the season. They'll come back down to earth once the annual injury bug hits them.
  21. This thread should be pinned. Just reviewed the Anaheim game day thread. Are there really this many fans out there that believe we aren't shooting for one of the big 2 next draft? Were the additions that much of an attraction for fans? And the kids, holy smokes, they are going to be on a heavy learning curve, at least, the youngsters. Did fans really expect more from Risto, Samson and a couple of other youngsters? To me, them being with the big club is just them getting their feet wet, be it 9 games or a full season. Rochester is the key. It holds the future tools for this club, and those tools are being brought along at the pace they should be. I'm speaking of Armia, McCabe and a few others. There is no reason to panic here my fellow Sabres fans. A plan has been conceived, it's implementation is being executed as this season progresses. For those that actually buy the line of crap about 2 to 3 seasons, news flash for you, when you break down all of the talent on a team, or what little there was of it, and replace it with youth, time is what is needed for them to mature and develop, patience is what is needed from the fan base, that combined with realistic expectations. Look beyond what is right in front of your noses, take off the blinders, see the bigger picture. Show patience with the product that lay prostrate before us now, for it won't be like this in 2 to 3 years.
  22. All in all the Sabres don't look bad. Hey, this game is still winnable :P
  23. I got to watch a Sabres game, YAY! They blew it in the 3rd, BOOOOO!!!!! Not surprising on a couple of note worthy issues. 1. Meszaros, there is a reason he's with the Sabres and not else where, it's showing. 2. Myers, we keep him. I like his attitude so far for this season. 3. Zadarov, please, bring him in, it can't hurt to get him the NHL experience, even in a lost cause season. 4. Girgs, more of him for years to come, YES PLEASE! 5. Samson, meh, wasn't overly impressed either way, but, I advocated back to juniors, couldn't hurt if he stays. and finally, 6. Expect the net minders to have a long season. On a side note: Buffalo 0 - 2, NYI 2 - 0, Looks good for our pick next draft, the Islanders however are not keeping their end of the deal up. I hate being wrong, but I projected them at 4 to 10th pick over all, in those first 2 games, they looked, well, good. And that sucks for us.
  24. ISIS members caught sneaking across our southern border according to house member Hunter from California. Ebbola, ISIS the nation is under attack and that is on Obama. I'm one of common sense, but I have to tell you all its looking more and more like Obama is incompetent or just doesn't care ll
