some cool news if it is accurate - Zacha to come to OHL. Article is translated to English The greatest hockey talent disappear overseas. Zach goes from Liberec to OHLT The draft matures in 2015, according to experts exceptional generation of hockey players, which may affect the NHL for a long time. A one of its biggest stars is to become Pavel Zach, now seventeen year old Czech center. In order to fulfill his dream closer, is likely to come from Liberec Club Sarnia Sting in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. Czech had a representative in the Top 10 overall pick in the NHL for the last ten years, only twice. In June 2007, Columbus booked striker James Voráček as number 7 and the year before Florida took Michael Frolik as ten. According to forecasts, which are naturally still evolving, Zach headed in the next auction hopefully somewhere between the fifth and tenth position. To further improve its prospects and the NHL was interested as much in his eyes, he decided to move overseas. In Liberec ACKs him is attributed the role of extras and a junior or farm in Venice hockey player with his goal - to be among the best in the world - just not enough. In season 2014/15 would be active in the club Sarnia Sting in the Ontario Hockey League. "Negotiations are nearing the end, the final agreement should be ready in the coming days," said hokejistův father Pavel Zacha It is shaped like a grown man (191 cm and 96 kg), so it eliminates the usual teen troubles with shirring muscles. You now divided from the elite to be skilful forwards James Crow and David Pastrňák that freshly picked Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins. Zach among their peers further excels in swift and precise shot, the ability to play hard on the body and hockey intelligence and responsibility. Zach, meanwhile, pretty quiet (at least temporarily) broke with the Tigers Liberec. Sarnia during a series of meetings with agents Zachovými Michal Sivko and Alan Walsh can offer all the care in the private (local boys living in families) after professionally. Quality food. Opportunity in the first string and in all key situations. The possibility of further development in skating, shooting and stick handling. Zach is the new environment happy. Zahrančiní engagement takes it as a challenge. Eager to promote and showcase the curiosity of the NHL. Sarnia in the past helped to position number one draft pick Steven Stamkos (2008) and nail Jakupovovi (2012). How high will push Paul Zach?

You could be right (maybe im remembering the 2012 version) but I'd still put him above the Sabres goalies.
-
Luckily Arizona has one of the top goalies in the league and the Sabres dont. Though you are right, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Coyotoes employ the same strategy as the Sabres. Erat and Vermette will be UFA's at end of 2104/15 (deadline trades) and I wouldnt be surprised if Yandle and/or Doan are trade bait this coming year.
-
Or Eichel FYI, McDavid played wing too with Horvat at Centre.
-
Reinhart played wing and had a great tourney for Team Canada ona line with McDavid
-
This is more of a 2015/16 Roster post but anyways.... I was thinking that the Sabres would have the heaviest group of forwards by the 2015 / 16 season but now I am not so sure. Here is a possible line-up (you can all argue who or who wont be here by then and I am sure you will) but here is my line-up. Height Weight Line A LW Reinhart 73 193 C Eichel 74 193 RW Baptiste 73 204 Line B LW Fashing 74 212 C Grigorenko 75 219 RW Gionta 67 176 Line C LW Foligno 75 223 C Girgensons 73 200 RW Stewart 74 231 Line D LW Hodgson 72 192 C Ennis 69 169 RW Moulson 73 200 This group would average 6'05 inches and a weight of 201lbs. Now hopefully, a couple of the youngests would add a few lbs but in comparison the LA Kings top 13 forwards averaged 208lbs and only had 1 player (Mike Richards) under 6'1. Now if you add Aremia add take out Gionta you would average 6'1 and 203lbs.

From Elliotte Friedmans final 30 thoughts of the NHL season that pertain to the Islanders: 15. The Islanders were prepared to give Jarome Iginla four years. 16. Isles coach Jack Capuano is spending his summer working on structural adjustments to the team's penalty kill, which was 29th. "We're going to change the way we forecheck on it, and, when the puck is in our zone, we're going to pressure differently." 17. With a glut of centres, Capuano said that Brock Nelson is going to get a shot at the wing with John Tavares (who is skating again) and Kyle Okposo. Nelson played with them on the power play and spent time on the wing at the world championships. Frans Nielsen is not switching positions. "Frans is one of the smartest players in hockey. And he thinks the game as a centre." 18. As for Mikhail Grabovski and Nikolai Kulemin, Capuano did not promise that they would be united, "But, we do know what the advanced stats say about them together." (Hint: they are good.) He added that Calvin de Haan is a going to get a long look as Travis Hamonic's full-time partner. 19. Here's the question Capuano can't answer, but is very hopeful about. New York's three goalies combined for an .898 save percentage last season, which just won't do. If Jaroslav Halak and Chad Johnson play to their career averages (.918 and .926, respectively), how many more points is that worth? 20. It's difficult to know for sure, but word last week was the sale from Charles Wang to Andrew Barroway hit a snag. What's uncertain is if it means there will be no sale, or if there will be no sale to this particular buyer. Whatever the case, things are a little cloudier than expected. :

Maybe because he just turned 20?
-
no, just compiling the top players from various 2015 draft rankings. i think its to early to do any serious rankings anyways. just looking to do up profiles for 50 top prospects not named McDavid or Eichel
-
should have explained that it isnt ranked in any particular order just 50 top prospects- may go alphabetical but finding it hard to find good scouting reports on guys who play ouside north america at this early stage
-
I don't agree. I think we still need a #1 D. Risto definitely has the look of a top 2 D but if the Sabres miss out on Eichel and McDavid - I would have no issues with them drafting Hanifin as the future #1 Dman. We will have a better idea of the Sabres draft needs with another year of developement from Grigorenko. If he has a break out season, we could already be set at Centre. Don't get me wrong, I will gladly move Rienhart or Grigs to wing for a chance at McDavid / Eichel.

I don't think you are alone at all with it. This is going to be one of the most exciting hockey seasons in memory. Unfortunately, watching the Sabres may not be the greatest thing to do as we strive for last place but watching the Islanders, Blues, CHL, NCAA, Rochester and all the Junior Tournies are going to be great. I will still watch the Sabres and hope they all improve while hoping team continues to lose - is that an oxymoron? Not that I am counting but there are 79 days 4 hours and 30 minutes till the NHL season faces off!

2015 NHL Draft - 50 Weeks and 50 Prospects 50) Brock Boeser C Waterloo USHL 6’0 195lbs 49) Nathan Noel C Saint John QMJHL 5’10 163lbs 48) Mathew Barzal C Seattle WHL 5’11 174lbs Ranked 7th overall on the initial Future Considerations 2015 Prospects list. Career Highlights – 2014 - invited to attend Canada's National Men's Summer Under-18 Team selection camp that will be held from Aug. 2-5, to select the team that will represent Canada at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup. 2013/14 – Represented Canada at the World U18 Tournament last April. Led all Seattle forwards in Assists during his rookie campaign with 40. 2012 – drafted 1st overall in the WHL entry draft by Seattle Barzal is considered a potential top 10 pick in the 2015 NHL Draft - having been compared to Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. He has great vision / playmaking abilities and helps makes those around him better. Smooth skating, strong puck handling and ice awareness are his best assets at this time. He is still working on his 2 way game and scoring more himself and will be looking to improve on his 14 goals for the Thunderbirds. --- Elliotte Friedman has reported that Jack Eichel has told Saint John of the Q that he will be attending Boston University this fall. I'm not surprised at all - it was rumoured he would have been interesetd in playing in the OHL and I would have loved to see him go up against McDavid head to head. Is there anyway he isn't 'one and done' at BU?

2015 NHL Draft - 50 Weeks and 50 Prospects 50) Brock Boeser C Waterloo USHL 6’0 195lbs 49) Nathan Noel C Saint John QMJHL 5’10 163lbs Noel has been invited to Canada’s National Mens Summer under 18 Selection Camp this coming August prior to finalizing a team for the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. In 2013, he was the 3rd overall pick by the Sea Dogs in the 2013 QMJHL draft. In his rookie season in the “Q” he was 3rd in team scoring (16G 23A). He is an offensive player who has slick skating skills however has work to do on his defensive game - finishing minus 35 last season. Prior to 2013 Noel attended Shattuck-St.Marys boarding school in Minnesota – the same program that has produced stars such as Jonathan Toews, Zach Parise, Kyle Okposo, Nathan MacKinnon and Sidney Crosby. He is currently projected as a 2nd round pick (3rd if defensive game doesn’t improve). He can help his draft status by not only working on his two way game but by adding some muscle and mass to his slight frame. Ranked 27th by Future Considerations preliminary 2015 draft rankings and listed on the CSS 2015 Futures List

i would have thought a self appointed expert would know that one of the Islanders top prospects is the captain of the memorial cup winning Edmonton Oil Kings -Griffen Reinhart. maybe you should watch the prospects game and learn a little about them?

Early Look at the Top 10 in 2015 So exciting that the Sabres have a great opportunity to draft one of the "generational" players AND another of the top end talents coming out next year.
-
the countdown is on - 350 days until the 2015 NHL draft.
-
mike schopp said it well today "this is the most important sabres season of our lives"
-
Hindsight that Mckinnon was going to be a star? Im starting to think you are just trying to get everyone riled up.

Consistent Winning? in his 9 seasons the Pengiuns have missed the playoffs once (his rookie year). They have been to the cup finals twice - winning once. Since his rookie year their record is 373W 193L and 56 OTL and have 3 Division Championships. Lets just win ONCE before he start worrying about multiple championships.

50 Weeks and 50 Prospects until the 2015 NHL Draft #50 Brock Boeser C Waterloo USHL 6’0 195lbs Boeser will represent USA in the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Tourney this August. He played on the USA`s top line with Denis Yan and Tom Novak during the recently completed under 18 Summer Camp. Reports indicate that he played well with the puck and caused mayhem in the attacking zone. Committed to University of Wisconsin for the 2015-16 season and will play this season with Waterloo of the USHL . Brock was drafted 4th overall in the 2013 USHL draft by Sioux City - Playing 8 games (3g 1A +/- -2) for them during the 2013-14 season before being traded to Waterloo last month. Prior to the USHL he played at Burnside High School in Minnesota where he was described as a hard-nosed, intense player that possesses good size and skill. He led Burnside with 46 Points in 24GP and a plus minus of +25 and was named `Player of the Year` by the Minnesota Star Tribune after this past season. Currently projected as a mid to late 2nd round pick. His game is improving and with a good display at the Under 18`s he should move up draft boards.
