Am i the only one who doesn't want ROR traded? can we just get away from the "sign" Tavares posts - why would he come to a last place team?
-
How many play-off series wins in this time period? slice it anyway you want, they weren't good enough and needed to be trashed.

The Great Toronto Illusion (or should I say Delusion)

whats the core Dmen? is and will be the achilles heel for year unless they can figure it out. -
theoretically it should only happen once in a hundred years, so Im ok that they have a shot. I think that if you put every spot up for lottery, you take away almost all motivation to tank. If you keep the bottom team with the current odds, it would be very unlikely they ever fall of out bottom 5.
-
I agree, though i would go further and say all 15 spots should be up for grabs.
-
Perfect, we can match him with his brother when we draft Quinn Hughes at #4 this year.
-
I like the idea of going D and D in this draft. Of course, I don't pass up Svechnikov Tkachuk or Wahlstrom if they are rated higher than Hughes / Boqvist / Bouchard, Dobson but assuming sabres draft 3 / 4,. it would work out if the highest ranking player on their board is a Dman. Then I go there again in the 2nd round as there should be some good ones still on the board. Im really curious about Johnny Tychonic, Got a couple of the Canada U18 games recorded and look forward to watching him. Who knows, with the issues regarding Merkley, he could be there too. I really like Sandin but I don't see him not being a 1st rounder at this point. next year, we get real lucky in the lottery, moving up big time to get a top 3 pick and winger for Eichel. Yes, I would love to see them be the 2018/19 version of the Avalanche but that is asking a lot of them.
-
You are going d with both picks? I'm assuming Sandin is gone by 32. I would take him over tychonic and Noel as well
-
What's your perfect draft day result? Mine: If they pick #1. Dahlin and doesn't matter If #2. Svechnikov and Tychonic If #3 or #4. Hughes and Noel
-
so if the Sabres don't get #1, we want the 2nd last place team to get it.
-
I wouldn't mind him at 32 though, especially if they go D with the first pick.
-
NHL Central Scouting still has a bias to size. Last season they had Vilardi and Rasmussen 6'6 ranked 4 & 5 respectively, ahead of Makar. Glass, Tippett and Suzuki. I think that explains Tkachuk at 2 (over Zadina) and Dobson and Bouchard at 4 & 5 over Hughes. edit also may explain Noel 6'6 at 10 when some publications have him as a 2nd rounder.

who is Karlsson moving out from the slot? one of the keys to Avalanche's turnaround this season is Samuel Girard. 5'10 160lbs. https://www.denverpost.com/2018/04/11/sam-girard-colorado-avalanche-rookie-vs-nashville-predators/

I don't think he has Laine's shot, but he is probably a better skater and is a bull driving the net. Not sure he is a 40 goal guy but put him with Eichel and its a possibility

Evander Kane did very well in his 1st playoff game
Crusader1969 replied to gilbert11's topic in The Aud Club
Or maybe Boston just has really good players and lots of depth? Did the Blackhawks suddenly forget how to win this year? Its a BS argument, just like blaming the mindset of the Tank 3 years later. Replace the bottom end of the roster with more talent, improve the goal tending and you will win games. -
shouldn't be worrying about his size, its the new NHL. Lots of high end Dmen 5'10 to 6'0.

there's that word Again that word "Culture" . Buffalo doesn't have a losing culture, there is no such thing. T The Sabres were a team constantly over matched by better teams who have more depth and more skill. Get better players - get more wins. Simple as that. Can anyone who believe's in Losing Culture explain to me the Leafs 1 season turn around? Missing the play-offs for 9 of the previous 10 and finishing dead last the year prior? -
1) nope 2) yes, yes, Hughes 3) sure 4) nope 5) sure to Hutton.

Botterill End Of Year Presser: Wednesday, 2pm EDT
Crusader1969 replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
players / gm / coach's only blame "losing culture" when they don't wan't to call out teammates / players who simply aren't good enough. -
sure, I'll take the bet contingent on the Sabres drafting 3rd.
-
Friendly bet if the Sabres draft #3? I say he takes Hughes over Zadina.
-
you are good at going back through old posts, can you show me where I wanted this team to finish last before the season even started? so, your plan was for them in 2012 is to go back in time and re-do the draft?
-
a couple of pieces? Like Crosby and Malkin? Im basing the upside that they will get a top 4 pick, most likely the 4th pick (over 50%). That player will be a huge improvement over the guy he replaces on this roster.
-
Not sure they will have room with all the banners the Sabres won in the Pre-Tank years.
-
I agree, im thankful for that as well. Did that for the most part of 40 years as a Sabres fan. Rather experience real pain for 5 / 6 years but then get to watch the young kids potentially take the team to heights we haven't seen before.
