Article from 2013 Hedman 4 seasons in the NHL and 23 years old " The Tampa Bay Lightning bought into the hype, and drafted Hedman ahead of players like Matt Duchene and Evander Kane. Post-Draft Fallout Hedman has been in the NHL for four seasons now. 2013-14 will be his fifth in the league, and while he's been a minute-muncher in Tampa, he hasn't even come close to providing the kind of offensive spark many hoped he would. The Hockey News thought that Hedman had some offensive upside. So did ESPN. And while the Lighting have been one of the most explosive offensive teams in the league over the last few seasons, Hedman has yet to cash in. Through 258 games played, he's notched 89 points. While posting 20 points in a season isn't bad for a defenseman, it's likely that the Lightning would take one of the players they passed on at this point if they had a do-over."

4 year in the league but not 21. can you confirm the ages of the other 3?
-
there are articles about Hedman during his 22 and 23 years of age calling him a bust and how they made a big mistake taking him over Evander Kane. I'll see if I can find them.

the trails and tribulations of the young player. Same with UPL - everyone wants immediate results cause Player X came in at 21 and lit the league on fire however its took 9 other guys till their mid 20s to develop

would you be happy if Dahlin turned into John Carlsson? Dougie Hamilton? Victor Hedman? Roman Josi? Dahlin is ahead of all of these players at the age of 21. Relax, he will improve as the team improves. Though he may never turn into the "use in all" situations type defenseman but I have no doubt we will see seasons of 70 plus points in the near future.

needed, as its no longer a possibility I actually hope Power goes to the AHL for at least half a season next year. They ruined Risto, trying to turn him into something he is not. Now Adams wasnt there in Dahlins rookie year, so can't be blamed. Seems to be doing the right thing with Power, Krebs, JJ and Quinn.

You can slice it anyway you want. He’s 21 - lots of examples of dmen that take till 23 or 24 to develop If we are still seeing these plays at 23 / 24 then have at it he should never have been in the NHL at 18. -

Totally different players. I try to remember what hedman looked like at 21 and other similar style plus I’d guess Rasmus would look slightly better on the Avs. -

Why do I have the feeling the “Dahlin sucks crowd” are mostly the same people as the “Thompson sucks” crowd ? previously “the Reinhart sucks” crowd, sprinkled in with the “Eichel sucks” crowd -

He is 22. Plenty of the top NHL goaltenders had similar numbers in the AHL your point of being far away is true but it’s not something to be overly concerned about at this point -

he's holding onto his opinion on that one too. Still prefers Hughes over Power - said the Powers points are mostly against weak opponents and isn't impressed with his defensive game. Though, I do like listening to his Scouching live thing he does weekly. you hear a lot about prospects who dont get a lot of publicity . -
I would say 100% yes. No reason for them not to be high on him
-
I agree, though they took Quinn, who isnt a speedster. the Lambert vs Geekie would definitely be an interesting debate
-
too early to say but you were definitely off of where they would be drafted. However, if they turn into players who should have been drafted top 10, you should wear that as a badge of honour Or Honor (depending on where you live) I can see Lambert but not Geekie - can you expand?
-
ill regurgitate from Scouching from last Thursday....he calls him Fine, not involved Defensively , unreliable passing and moving the puck at the KHL level. Says he should still be a top 10 /15 pick and has the skill to rip apart the MHL. Not really sold on him overall.
-
no offence, but your predictions about the draft haven’t been very accurate
-
Why unlikely? Lambert, Geekie and Cooley would fall into that 4-10 range I would guess who knows. , maybe Savoie falls too cause of “size”
