I've mentioned this several times over the past years but one of the greatest tragedies of this whole debacle is that the Pegulas have absolutely wasted the golden years of RJs career. Poor guy probably just wanted one more meaningful season to call before turning the mic off for good. "Hey RJ, you wanna memorize a bunch of new names who won't be here next year?"

So now that the dust has settled...what do we think our current line-up looks like? I realize this all hinges on the Eichel trade and I'm fully expecting the roster to look different as we'll be taking prospects and players who can hopefully make this years line up better. The morale in the youth who are still in the "oh geez, I'm actually playing in the NHL which is a dream come true".

All of the teams you mentioned have made the playoffs in the last decade. The Sabres play in a league where 1/2 of the teams qualify for the post season. It takes a special kind of idiocy at the upper levels to be this bad.

Just a lil' bit more suffering is all.

I'm really hoping they had the cameras rolling in the war room today for behind the blade or whatever the series is called. Last year we saw Terry saying, "with this signing (Hall) I think we'll be competing for the stanley cup". This year we can see the Ullmark whiff and Pegula saying, "Well, *****."

My sources say the Sabres have reached out to David Ayers and he said , "not interested".

Does the Ullmark whiff accelerate things here? Will this make Adams desperate to make a move? Will a goalie now be part of the deal coming back? Really glad we have a 1st time GM with no actual experience calling these shots.

Also, I'm happy for Linus. Why any upcoming UFA would sign his is mind boggling. This is another mark against Adams for not flipping him at the deadline. How many assets have we lost for nothing in the past few years? McCabe, Ullmark, Bogo, anyone else?

They'll be back in tomorrow after we hear that Anaheim is out, but then they'll be out again. This whole situation is like a cat meowing at a door.
