Anderson has already earned $40 million dollars playing in the NHL, don't think the 750K is what moved the needle. I assume he just loves the game and wants to keep palying.

I moved back to Buffalo in October, so I'll definitely be going to some games now that I live a few miles away from the arena, however, I'll be buying my tickets on the secondary market and my in arena purchases will be confined to beer.

The last 5 years has all fused into a blur of boring, uninspired hockey. I honestly don't remember any specifics of Housley brand hockey. I'm certainly not, however, with the lack of talent, goaltending and toughness on the current roster I can see this team spiraling somewhere in the middle of the season. I hope I'm wrong.

You need solid goaltending to support this kind of hockey to mask over the skill deficit. We don't have solid goaltending and it's going to be ugly this year.

I agree, talk is cheap. While there was a noticeable style of play after Granato took over, I think some of that is attributable to the absence of Krueger, we'll see how they can run with the new system over the course of an entire season opposed to a 20 game sample size. If the Sabres put up another 18 game losing streak, do you think Granato gets canned?

And the worst part was it was almost identical* to the Phil Housley brand of hockey. *in my mind.

It was soooooooo frustrating under Krueger watching the team never forecheck and also in the defensive zone sit back passively and never pressure the puck carrier allowing them time to get set up and make a pass

Do other franchises constantly hire former players as coaches in their farm system? Or is it the case that he lives in the area and they don't have to find someone to uproot their life to come coach?

The timing of this release is odd. If the season starts and jack is still here but on LTIR, does his salary count against the cap to reach the floor?

Montreal recently uppped their offer? Did they throw in Mailloux as a sweetener?

I've mentioned this several times over the past years but one of the greatest tragedies of this whole debacle is that the Pegulas have absolutely wasted the golden years of RJs career. Poor guy probably just wanted one more meaningful season to call before turning the mic off for good. "Hey RJ, you wanna memorize a bunch of new names who won't be here next year?"

Given the current situation, this is a signing we needed. A forward with some grit.
