  1. Jagr (G: 738, A: 1,101, P:1,839) is 4 goals away from overtaking Brett Hull as the #3 goal scorer of all time. He's also 12 points shy of overtaking Gordie Howe (P: 1850) as #3 in total points in the history of the NHL. Guy is a freaking legend. He has a shot of breaking those records by the end of this season and IF he comes back for another season, he'll be threatening to overtake Mark Messier (P: 1887) as second in all time Points.
  2. So....a line of Gionta - Eichel - Coco?
  3. Did you bring in an outside bottle of Franks with you or was this a to-go order? If the former, I like your style.
  4. Pardon my ignorance, but what does JAG stand for? I've seen that term thrown around here and while I understand the context I'm lost to the direct meaning. My thoughts on McGinn are trade him at the deadline and then try to re-sign him in the offseason. He's making 3 mil this year and is playing well in his contract year. He's also 28 and coming off back surgery. I wouldn't sign him for more than 2 years at a max of 4 mil. If we can't re-sign him, I wouldn't mind. He's not an integral piece moving forward.
  5. That was a good effort by Ray to move the hot dog down acrost his face out of the frame.
  6. I was also just looking at the standings and am amazed that 7 of the 9 teams composing the "basement" of the NHL are all Canadian (Buf and Columbus being the other two).
  7. The new site is abyssal. I understand there's a learning curve with new designs but this is beyond bad. It took me several minutes to figure out who assisted on the goals of the scores I was looking for. It's amazing how much they up this release in the middle of the season. I don't understand the rush to release it like that. Why not make sure it's properly built AND tested and then release over the off-season?
  8. This is baloney. Jack Eichel is an elite talent. You're saying the coach wants to shield him from pressure, in a season that's a wash at this point? Jack Eichel should have been the first player off the bench. At home, vs. Boston? Are you shitting me?
  9. I don't have anything to add that's already been said here with the exception of the following: TBJ, I hope you tipped Shelby well tonight.
  10. Anyone not named mezaros and leino were too good for Murray last year
  11. Thanks for the info. I think I started lurking here around 2008 or 2009. Looks like the actual games back then were discussed in a separate chat? Anyways, anyone looking for a sad trip down memory lane can look here. Last game of the 2006 season which was june 1st. Man what I'd give to watch the Sabres play into June: http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/4345-game-discussion-612006/ I think there was a "chat" where the games were discussed. Not sure of the reasoning behind it but from a historical perspective it's stupid. Maybe to prevent clutter in the thread but that seems counter intuitive to having a thread for discussion? Anyways, once Eichel leads the team to the playoffs next year this place is going to be rocking.
  12. I tried to look through the archives for an old playoff game thread and I managed to find timeframe of when we played Philly and the Umberger hit happened but I didn't see any actual Game Day Threads (this was april 20ish 2006, maybe they didn't have a naming convention we have now?). Anyways, I found this thread from april 2006 hinting that RJ was contemplating retirement. I for one am so happy we've had him a decade on-wards and counting: http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/3063-rj-to-retire/
  13. Love this Gionta gif (found on the habs forum):
  14. Didn't the Sabres shed Mitchell and Flynn to speed up the Tank? Or were they brought on to help the tank and then shipped because they demonstrated skill? At this point it's all a horribly twisted recollection, a distant nightmare.
  15. Has the Montreal brass publicly stated that they're due for some "suffering" so they could build up from the draft? The Sabres pretty much came out and said "were planning to tank" from the onset and that's what made it easy(ier) for me to embrace that strategy. I think the Habs are in a different boat since they started 10-0. Management wasn't saying "were gonna build through the draft and also be undefeated". I think my point is Sabres fans had more reason to "root" for the tank because it was the strategy that was laid before us. Having a player go down with injury (Price) is not an excuse to start rooting for losses.
  16. I'm super jealous of you. I've been planning a bachelor party in Montreal and I was really hoping the Sabres would have had a weekend game in Montreal this season but got shafted by the schedule. Hope Jack puts on a show for you tonight.
  17. Ovetchkin & Toews are bowing out of the all-star game due to "injuries". Meanwhile, John Scott's life force grows stronger.
  18. Doesn't get any closer than that. Can't believe they pulled it off.
  19. YEICHEL!
  20. Been a healthy scratch since whenever Weber came back from injury. Reckon they're keeping him healthy until they trade off weber at the deadline...I'm guessing he'll be packaged with mcginn or ochocinco.
  21. Holy god was that a pretty goal by Eichel.
  22. He just released a new album called Blackstrar a few days ago and it's incredible. Im glad he was able to give us one more before he returned to the stars.
  23. My bold predictions: Stafford has a 4 point night and Kane gets injured.
