    So...we're assuming anyone who comes out of the gates struggling tonight partied a little too hard last night, right? I love these 10 pm starts, lets you get all your done in the evening then you can curl up with the Sabres in bed. I really hope they win and push the momentum but Vegas has looked surprisingly good, perhaps because earlier teams thought they'd be "gimme" games? I have a bad feeling that Johnson is going to get chased but I am chasing those thoughts away with a fantasy of a 6-point Eichel night.

    I was able to catch the 3rd period and it was boooooring. It didn't look like a team down by 1 goal looking for their first win of the season. No desperation. I know it's early, only 4 games but my enthusiasm for this season is waning and I've only watched 1 period :(

    This is the issue. Since the preseason started I've been disappointed every time I visit reddit.com/r/hockey seeing highlights of McDavid, Laine, Matthews, etc, with amazing plays and we've had none of that from the Sabres. The fear which I kept to myself during the preseason (because it was the preseason, of course) was that there was no flash to be found anywhere. This team has had zero WOW factor.

    I have yet to watch a game this season and hope to catch some of this. I've got a hockey game at 9:30 so hopefully I'll catch the 2nd & 3rd periods if I can stay awake and it's worth watching. Based upon the "highlights" I've seen the pairing of Baloo - Tennyson frightens me. Has Antipin really been worse than Baloo to warrant getting scratched over him? I also see Sam isn't even cracking the 2nd PP? What if he's not fine? Go Sabres

    WHOOOO! SABRES HOCKEY!!! WHOOO!!! MOULSON AND GORGES SITTING!!!!! I'm driving to Montreal today for a hockey tournament so hopefullly I'll make it there before the game starts so I can cheer for the good guys amongst a bunch of bad guys. Really hope Jack shows up tonight. Can't let McDavid and Matthews have the lime light.

    Aside from it being the off-season and being starved for anything to actually talk about I'm amazed there was ever a discussion as to who was going to be the next captain. How could it be anyone but Jack?

    Isn't Montreal hurting on defensive depth? They traded their blue chip prospect for Drouin, Emelin was drafted by Vegas, Markov went to the KHL, Baloo is here. Did they bring anyone in? I don't get this move from their perspective (other than knowing they love their hometown french-speakers) but I like it from our perspective.

    Jagr needs 50 points to surpass Gretzky's assist total which would disrupt what I consider to be one of the most absurd stats in any sport...Gretzky having more assists than any other player has total points. Can he do it? He'd probably need 1 more season after this and it seems pretty slim he'd be re-signed. Who knows though.

    Does Griffith have to go through waivers to get to the AHL? If so I think he'll definitely start the season in Buffalo and be sent down if he doesn't perform.

    I never thought Pouliot would be in danger of being waived/sent down but I'm curious to know whose gonna drop if Bailey makes the team out of camp. Is it really possible that Mouslon gets waived? That'd be a hell of a message being sent by HCPH and I'm all for it although I doubt that happens. We have to cut 2 of Pouliot, Bailey, Mouslon, Nolan, D-Lo and Griffith, right? My thoughts are that they send down Griffith and Bailey and don't call them up until the injury carousel starts to pick up steam. I'm also curious to see what JBot does with Nolan and D-Lo. Is Nicks' time up?

    Does Bailey sitting essentially mean he's Rochester bound? I haven't been paying as much attention as I'd like. How has Griffith looked? He comes off as the prototypical Luke Adam type. Does he actually have a shot at making the team or do we think he'll be heading back to Rochester after tonight? I like the Nolan pick up and I'm hoping for a few games this year we see a 4th line flanked with D-Lo and Nolan (assuming none of them get waived before the season starts). Games I'd like to see this line is vs. the Bruins, Flyers and Rangers.

    Humboldt Fog is so amazing. Anything stinky is. I love a good Tallegio, Roqueforts, creamy sheeps milk cheeses. Mmmmm...Has baked brie been mentioned? I hate when I go somewhere with baked brie because it's too easy to ingest in excess of 3k cheese calories. The only cheeses I don't like by themselves that I'm aware of are Ricotta ( i agree, it's vile) and Feta, although both have acceptable applications, there is a time and place for everything, I suppose, but I wouldn't be caught dead eating those by themselves.

    I agree that Dunleavy is borderline un-listenable over the radio, it's impossible to follow the game the way he calls it. If Pegula wants to put his billions to good use he should look into cloning RJ.

    They need assigned captains for the pre-season games. Him, Kane and I think Pommers had an A? The real thing to take away from these letter assignments is that Gorges did not have an A.

    This is what Heller's "Catch 22" was originally based off of but his publisher persuaded him to make it a war story since America doesn't have the audience for a hockey book.
