  1. Will the Pens be able to afford Guenztal? Any chance Botteril could make a deal to bring him over here?
  2. I was at that game, sitting 20ish rows behind the net on the other end of the ice. Still can't believe Hasek let that in.
  3. This was a pleasant surprise for me...I figured he'd try his hand with a more competitive team using the rationale that if he's playing with better players he'd set himself up for a much bigger contract his next go around. Is it possible we're seeing the Dahlin effect? This signing also gives me two thoughts: 1. Antipin is done on this team. 2. One of the asterisk'd players below is being moved one way or another this year. Risto - Dahlin Scandella - Bogo* McCabe* - Nelson Beaulieu* Pilut
  4. I thought we won because we all translated our names to Swedish for most of the season. Whoever had that idea deserves a beer. I feel like there's no way they didn't know when the final 3 picks were announced. Botts mouth kept twitching into an almost -eating grin and the Carolina GM had a gauntness on his face that conveyed "I can't believe I still have to stand through this, we lost, I want to leave".
  5. I have a hunch McCabe is getting traded this offseason and that Nelson isn't going to re-sign here. Risto - Scandella X - Dahlin Guhle - BOGO Pilut Baloo
  6. If we took sergachev our defense wouldn't have been as bad and we might not have finished last this year....
  7. 14614 will be the number Rip gives him in training camp.
  8. F*CK YES! WHOOOO!!!!! I was biking home from hockey in the rain, gear on my back, wgr in my ear and when the pick got announced I was hooting and hollering like a goose on christmas. Got a lot of weird looks from pedestrians but no matter. DAHLIN, YOU'RE COMING FOR US!!!! Should be interesting to see Phil coach him. I hope he's able to impart some wisdom on the kid. I love that we don't have to have any draft day speculation. Our pick is set and we can worry about other things. WHOOOOOOO!!!!! Also whoevers idea was to change the names to Swedish is a DAMN GENIUS! Stick taps to you ! \_ \_ \_
  9. I'm looking forward to changing my username back to English and going back to the Schmelik avatar
  10. I don't disagree with any of the above. From a roster availability / contract status + ideally landing Dahlin (I know, 18.5% means we're likely not getting him but it's still a possibility), bringing in this new guy with the hopes Botteril also upgrades the D from within the NHL tells me that there's no room for Anitpin. Last years group didn't get the job done, let's hit the reset button and try something new.
  11. Antipin was hailed as an offensive generating defense-man. He had zero goals. That's enough for me to not want him back. Doubt we'll see Tennyson on the Sabres next year unless there's a rash of injuries (I think/hope Botts will give the back end a make-over). Bogo will play 30 games so don't worry about him and I like McCabe, he's better than Antipin at least but I also have a hunch he might be moved in a "shake-things-up" package. edit. Forgot to mention Beaulieu. He was worse than what people from Montreal were saying when he was first traded here. Absolute trash. I hope he's not on the team next season but can live with him for another year if need be.
  12. This moves, to me, signals that the Antipin experiment is over which I am happy about. Anitpin was horrendous and I don't understand why we would give him a new offer.
  13. A 4th line center / SHOOTOUT SPECIALIST who couldn't stay healthy? This will certainly hurt the team.
  14. So true. Anywhere else most "ethnic" foods you'll find is very homogenized for the "american" palette. This isn't the case in Queens.
  15. If you're staying in Queens make sure you have a side-quest of food destinations to check out. Queens has, hands-down, some of the best regional foods in the country as it has sizable immigrant populations from pretty much everywhere and the food is ###### amazing and it's hard to find anything that compares anywhere else.
  16. I submitted some feedback on the app about who their target audience is supposed to be for this newsletter and asked why the newsletter was so terrible today. I'll post their response here if I get one.
  17. For someone who was heralded as not giving any effs...well...I give him a giant F for his tenure. Unless Asplund, Pu and a few other later round picks pan out that grade might be raised to a D.
  18. Bruins are all over the leafs so far....3-0 half way through the 1st. Kadri might not see the ice until next season. I think a few of these series will be over in 4-5 games (Nashville/Colorado, Vegas/Kings, Toronto/NJD, Bos/Tor, Winnepeg/Wild)
  19. I downloaded the OneBuffalo APP on fan appreciation night to take a shot at the giveaways and in doing so I inadvertently signed up for the One Buffalo newsletter, which I received earlier this week. Reading through the letter left me with a growing sense of anger with this franchise. It reads like it was written by a teenage girl whose vocabulary barely eclipses 500 words (which might be a bit generous). I am shocked that this is a product being put out by an organization representing NHL & NFL teams. Is this the work of Russ Brandon's friend's daughter who undeservedly stumbled into an internship with the Pegulas? I know it's a small thing to nit-pick, but seeing trash like this being published by PSE hammers home that something is fundamentally wrong at the core of how these franchises are run. Text of the newsletter below for those of you who haven't seen it, bolded emphasis on the parts that made my eyes burn. Syntax, slang, the apparent ignorance of the existence of a thesaurus... Playoff SZN Playoff season is in full swing and we are digging it. The Rochester Americans are killin’ it and are Calder Cup bound. They will wrap up their regular season this weekend and then head to Round 1 of the playoffs on 4/25. We highly recommend grabbing tickets for that game ASAP! The Beauts totally crushed it this season and made another Isobel Cup Final appearance. The ladies in blue finished their season 12-4. And of course you can’t forget the Bandits. They have been totally tearing it up in the NLL East Division and are hanging strong in the playoff race. The Bandits head west to Calgary on April 14th to take on the Roughnecks. They will then head back to Banditland on April 21st to take on The Six’s very own Rock. The Bandits will then finish up their regular season on April 28th at KeyBank Center when they take on the Rochester Knighthawks. And did we mention that is Fan Appreciation night? Oh yeah. No Days Off Did you really think we were going to sign this newsletter off with H.A.G.S? No way! The NFL Draft is so soon which means football season is right around the corner. Our Street Team will be at the 2018 Buffalo Bills Draft Party presented by Bud Light at the ADPRO Sports Training Center. As always, they’ll be hooking My One Buffalo users up with some sweet swag. If you are attending, make sure you scope them out so you can take home some rad My One Buffalo items. TYSM, Fans The Sabres wrapped up their home game schedule last Wednesday and Sabres Fan Appreciation Night was in full swing. Discounted concessions and in-seat giveaways were all up in the arena. Oh, and of course every fan in attendance was hooked up with a sweet Fan’s Choice Dominik Hasek bobblehead courtesy of KeyBank. Since this bobblehead is so sick, we want to give y'all another chance to take one home! Maybe you’re from out of town or maybe you went to the game but still want another. Whatever it may be, tap here for your chance to take home a Hasek bobblehead! We ️ Feedback We are always looking for feedback from our much-loved users! Tap here to let us know what we can improve on for next season…or maybe you just want to drop a note saying “What’s up,” that’s cool too. Questions? Comments? Concerns? help@myonebuffalo.com.
  20. As much as I've bashed Gorges here, I'm feeling for that guy during his post game speech. Stick taps for him. He definitely put his soul into this team and it's unfortunate how the last 3 years have been for him.
  21. The bright spot going into next season is Casey. 5 points in his first 6 games going from HS - College - NHL in a years span is no joke. Hopefully he'll be the steal of last year's draft. Looking forward to what he can bring with another summer of growth and development.
  22. Why didnt the panthers have a penalty after the failed challenge?
  23. Welp. Thats the worst season ive hockey ive ever been through with this team. This board has been so much more entertaining than the actual on ice product. Good job on another season guys and gals...heres to a productive off season. Cheers!
  24. Lets see 2 points from casey tonight! Also Sam, Pominville and Scandella are playing their 82nd game tonight.
