LA apparently has tee times next week they can't afford to miss.
-
I am sorta watching.

Jack has ice in his veins tonight. Patient, something I think at times this year he hasn't always been (I'm nitpicking) but man is this kid good.
-
Just noticing that Boston is about to be a fringe team. They lack offense and have some questionable/aging defense. They are about to be a crappy team.
-
Jack Eichel doing his thing so far this game. Kid has swagger. I am not sure anything phases him.
Eichel just feathered a beautiful pass to put BU up 3-1.
-
look how amazing college hockey is compared to NHL, so much more flow.

Ennis enters the shower after an intense workout. The light starts to flicker. The hair on the back of his neck stands up. He knows he is being watched. He turns around. Tim Murray is stood there, face masked in shadow. Casually held in his right hand is 2ft of lead pipe.
"You don't look well, Tyler. Looks like you might have the flu. Or perhaps i'm wrong. Maybe you've got a lower body injury..."
Tyler bows his head. He knows what must be done.
Thank God Ghost is already banned. We might have lost him for a year responding to this post.

Sure, but I think he would've picked Reinhart either way. He's a scout himself. He still does far more scouting than most GMs. He knew Reinhart and Bennett as good, if not better than, his scouts. Maybe the reassured him, but I'm sure it was his decision almost entirely.
I doubt he knew them better than his scouts but I still maintain he listens to what they say and will adjust his thoughts accordingly.
Even better.
Actually, Hackett is healthy.
You are killing me. Hackett just got healthy as of today. You really think Murray should start him? Why? Lindback has crappy numbers too. Maybe Lindback has terrible numbers against Columbus? Your point is hyperbole and frankly I am annoyed at this point but all of the over-exaggeration going on around this place.
-
I couldn't disagree more. Does Murray seem like that type that would bunt his most important decision to somebody else? No. That decision was all Murray, I think.
Just because Bennett might be a little more physical doesn't mean that Murray doesn't see a talent gap that justifies the pick of Reinhart.
The key word was influenced. I think Murray listens to his scouts.
-
Start Hackett.
Who's injured?

Could one of the smarty-pants calculate the odds of the Islanders missing the playoffs and then winning the lottery? Has to be infinitesimal.
it was something like 1 in 15,000 I saw someone report the other day. It was twitter though so IDK how accurate.

Or that. The league hasn't adjusted to bigger goalies, at all. That and they've stopped calling penalties.
It is almost like the don't realize how effective one timers that force a goalie to slide across are. The big guys are a little bit slower.
-
It's true, and hugely depressing. I like watching the old games on NHL network where there's so much flow and openness to the game. I know people have talked about bringing that back before, but how?
Calling the 400 uncalled interference penalties and reducing the size of goalie equipment. Done.

I get the impression that Murray is going to pick who he wants to pick - regardless of his scouts recommendations. I doubt he let Devine talk him into anything.
I actually think the Reinhart pick was influenced by Devine. From all Murray has done and added to this team, Sam Bennett was more his type.
The Sabres embarked on a strategy to completely dismantle their entire roster in order to rebuild by drafting high for 2-3 years and getting superstar players. They go to all that effort, yet, folks on this board want to defend the inaction of the GM to not fire the coach that is standing in the way of achieving that strategy ?
That makes no sense.
So, it's okay to trade away every UFA worth anything to worsen the roster so we lose, but it's not okay to fire the man behind the bench that is coaching the team and trying to win every f**king game ?
That is the definition of insanity if I ever heard it.
Well first thing is we are drafting high again this year, regardless of the next 3 days. The second thing is Tim Murray needed a coach to hold the locker room together so it did not turn into Toronto. Again Nolan has done that. What action do you think Ted Nolan should be taking in the last 2 games to carry out what you perceive as Murray's order to finish DFL?
-
I think Vancouver will shutout the Phoenix Coyotes
-
I think Nolan is running the team exactly how Murray wanted. The wildcard is not Ted Nolan but the shocking woefulness that is Phoenix. If Murray wanted him gone, he would be gone.

Sam Reinhart's junior team says he has been assigned to the Amerks, but no word from the Sabres on when he'd join. http://kootenayice.net/article/weekly-ice-report-april-8-2015 …

Sam Reinhart is not with the #Amerks in Cleveland (play LEM Thursday night). Perhaps first to Buffalo for physical, then joins #ROC Friday?
-
3 of 3 games played in the NHL tonight were shutouts.
And yet the NHL doesn't think it has a scoring problem.

I seriously don't think karma/jinx/hockey gods have ever been on our side so to all of it, I say bring it on.
"F##k you Jobu, I do it myself."

How about everyone who bought a turd jersey gets hammered before the game and then throws up on the turd jersey. At the arena they throw the turd jerseys at our players while screaming McEichel is coming!!! McEichel is coming!!! Paul Revere style before climbing over the glass to fight the referees if they don't immediate cancel game but discovering they are too drunk to climb so they just barf onto the ice after physically over exerting their fat @$$3$.

uhg, another yotes gdt? I'll go sacrifice another Canadian kitten to the hockey gods, maybe it will work.
