  1. I agree that a consistent goaltender is key. ?How are any of the young goaltenders in the Sabres system looking? My only question is if the Sabres need centers and have some depth "they trust" in the pipeline, could Miller (one of the few valuable commodities the Sabres have) be used to add a few other pieces and high draft picks?? Just asking, as it appears this team is headed nowhere fast...

Makarov has looked good but is I would guess 2-3yrs away at least

Ullmark has looked good at times but I would say 4-5yrs away.

  2. I just completely disagree with that. Aside from getting the right people on the ice (see: I don't care of Ehrhoff had a couple bad games at the point, if you're trying to score PP goals in the NHL it is certifiably insane to have Brennan out there with the first unit instead of Ehrhoff--and no, I don't care that Brennan scored last night....and not having Hodgson on the first unit is also a joke IMO). But other than that, players have to read and react out there and make things happen with a combination of skill and creativity. How many times do we have guys open for 1-timers but the pass is in the skates, or the guy fans on it? That's not coaching, that's players.

pretty much all of this. passing on 1 timers is something I believe you could coach into guys

  3. We could have a good power play if Kevyn Adams wasn't coaching it.

agreed X (insert imaginary number that is ginormous)

    Fun Cody Facts:

Is 2nd on the Sabres in Goals 10, and pts 21.

Is tied for 17th in Goals and is tied for 24th in pts in the entire NHL

If this trend continues I do believe we may have a #1 center amongst us. Of course he still has a lot to prove and a long way to go but there is hope as we reach the halfway mark of a crappy season.

  4. I loved CoHo's goal shorthanded tonight against the Canes. I think I rather have him than Kassian any time, his stats are way better than kassian too.

Funny you should say this because

    http://blogs.theprovince.com/2013/03/06/cody-hodgson-scores-insane-goal-ruins-wednesday-for-all-canucks-fans/

To make today a little less dreary after that loss I will pull 2 quotes from this:

"- I then realize that Cody beat all five guys on the ice, plus the goalie. I then stare out my window, reflecting on life.

    - Just when I think I’ve recovered I notice Ehrhoff hugging Cody. I then look at the Canucks powerplay this year. I then begin to sigh deeply."

Some blogger in Vancouver thinks we have a good PP... bahahahahaha. I will say we have a good penalty kill though and CoHo's goal was a thing of beauty.

  5. I've got 1, only worn once, that I might be willing to part with. What's it worth to you?

If I had known it would have been worth a few bucks but they can't cancel my order because "a few of the other items you have ordered are in stock so it has been partially processed. Our system does not currently allow the cancellation of parts of orders after they have been processed."

    grrr. Thanks though.

  6. Ordered the Buffalo Sabres green shamrock shirt so I can represent my team (even if they suck) when I head to Savannah in a couple weeks for St. Pat's Day.

just got an email... "We are sorry the item is currently back-ordered and will be shipped once we receive it"

All I freaking wanted was my green sabres shirt but nooooo the nhl has to suck. Now I probably wont get it in time for St. Pat's which was the entire purpose of getting the damn thing!!!!

    I'm getting my shovel...

  7. Argh, more f*cking idiots making extra work for me... stupid purchasing dept guy tells me 5 min. ago he needs documentation TODAY on several items. I have them mostly together already because I'm going to be out next week, but I need my boss to sign them before I can send over and he's in clinic seeing patients most of the day. I'm reminded of the phrase "A failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine!" Argh.

pimp slap the purchasing guy with a shovel.

  8. WGR is way better than most of the local sports talk I've heard around the country.

I have noticed this as well. I think it is because Buffalo in general is critical of its sports teams and as a result "usually" the sports shows are somewhat critical as well. Sylvester however I would say is less critical than Shoop and the Bulldog. Of course I could be wrong

That being said I love it when Petey is on. He is funny as hell.

  9. Her father. We're still in that stage of shock since we just found out monday. None of us have any clue where to go with all the planning now. Do you postpone, do you move it up, do you not change a thing? I don't think there is a right answer here, but the whole thing is just going to be very difficult with that cloud hovering over us.

And in terms of this board, I have no clue what is going on in the NHL. I love the game, but at this point I don't have the time or the energy to keep up with whatever the "let's argue about this" topic of the day is.

I am sorry and I hope whatever decision you make in regards to your wedding that it turns out for the best.

  10. To be expected with a call in show. To his credit, he knows how to handle it in a professional manner.

Right, my issue is though when he pulls the "well tell me who you would replace him with"

I hate that argument because it isn't an argument. It is just dumb.

O crap this guy just ask him what the problem is?

Sylvester's Answer "Lindy Ruff is a coworker of mine and I will not comment on a coworker of mine, I personally like the guy."

Basically the question is now are we talking coaches or chemistry? which issue is it?
