  1. I haven't heard all of it and I tend to find this show insufferable, but kudos to Peters and Sylvester. These are the types of questions which should have been asked at the presser.

I was just thinking these were the questions I wanted asked and answered.

also "Cody Hodgson is an extremely hard working professional" Next time someone brings up his work ethic I give you this quote.

"We are trying to move up (in the draft), I have had conversation as early as yesterday about moving up... I talked to some teams yesterday that said they are not moving their pick"

  2. Apparently we like taking players about 1 round before they're expected to be drafted. That is fine if you have a GM who knows what he is doing, but...

what do you mean? the Bills a just a huge joke right now because we drafted a 4th round player in the 1st, clearly the GM knows what hes doing <_<

  3. Hey guys remember that one time when the Bills reached on a QB even though no one else drafted one til the jets in RND 2 meaning we would have gotten the same guy in rnd 2? Remember that? Remember when we passed on all those other good players for no other reason than sheer incompetence? Yea those were good times.

ps. don't feed me the line someone else would have taken Emanuel, because no one was ###### taking him in round 1.

guess we want to suck this year so we can draft Clowney next year.

Fun FSU story.......a friend of mine was an FSU grad and friends with a certain NFL player who is now retired. He relayed a story to me of how he took part in certain acts of passion with this player's girlfriend who later became his wife. It was quite detailed and quite funny. A few years later after learning this story and just throwing it in the back of my mental files, this player who was in a key position, came to Buffalo late in the season to play the Bills in a game where Buffalo was very much alive for the playoffs. I called my friend from the tailgate to inform him I was going to get the attention of this player in warmups and let him know just what had happened between his wife and friend. Knowing what devious thoughts I am capable of, and of my passionate fandom....he really thought I was going to go through with it.

Sadly, I showed some morals....and the Bills lost.

I think Wolfie went to FSU? Maybe he has some good stories about the ladies there.......

And I'm sure your girl is fine. She cooked you sauce, right? As long as it wasn't Puttanesca.........

interesting and yes she made spaghetti sauce and is an excellent cook. as far as other FSU girls, i don't know any lol but your story was intriguing.

Still dislike the pick but lets see how the second round goes... maybe we will draft Nassib today lol.

  5. A note on the accuracy and completion percentage thing: we know they're not one in the same. Just because a pass is completed doesn't mean it was put in the right place, or in stride, and so on. That said, I think the only accuracy which has really been questioned by anyone is the deep ball. From what I've seen his long ball is pretty hit or miss, but I never observed much of a problem on short and intermediate throws.

His issue is anticipation more than anything. Openings close quicker in the NHL so he needs to through Receivers open and I doubt he can. I hope I am extremely wrong

  6. I'm indifferent. The guy is big and smart. He seems to throw flatfooted many times and from what I was told, either goes to his first look, maybe second, then bolts.

The Bills at least pick up another 2nd, and got the 1st guy off the board. Either set the market, or clean up the value scraps.

This really is a weak draft.....guys that look like they could be nice players but a 2nd or 3rd, are going in the first this year. Reid the safety, Long and Puhl go bang in a row. I look at all those guys and say...yeah, they will probably be ok.

And LGR.....you need to tell us ahead of time that the girl is from FSU before you start asking dating advice. No need to pull a hamstring on the run when you can walk into the endzone......

something I should know about FSU girls?

It's kind of sad, but seeing LGR rant and rave about this pick makes me more comfortable with it.

    thats nice

Consensus seems to be Manuel has the strongest arm and is the best natural athlete amongst the QBs. He can run and he can stand in the pocket

He is also been consistently described as a natural leader, intelligent, hard-working and a great kid.

His accuracy and decision-making have been questioned, yet his completion percentage is something like 68 per cent and he's thrown twice as many touchdowns as picks.

His big game ability has been questioned yet he is 25-6 as a starter, 4 for 4 in bowl games, 5 for 6 against FSU's biggest rivals Florida and Miami and the senior bowl MVP.

Just remember about his completion percentage is he played in the ACC, they have questionable defenses at best.

  7. Candles. Sh*tloads of candles.

    And a fire extinguisher.

only thing I can think of for this

anyways, I had the pleasure of watching the Bills pick with a lovely young lady from Tallahassee and today work is going to be relatively slow so all and all its fantastic.

  8. I actually watched enough Florida State to have an opinion on Manuel outside of draftnik rankings. I worry about his decision making and accuracy. Made poor decisions with the ball on a fairly regular basis and has hit or miss deep ball accuracy (but unlike Fitz, it's not because of arm strength). I never walked away thinking the guy would be a top notch starter.

That said, they took the top guy on their board nd got extra picks in the process. Plus, he does have the highest ceiling if he puts it all together and I've had enough mediocre results to last me a lifetime, so I can pretty easily get on board with what I think is a boom or bust pick. It'll at least be exciting to see what happens. Now, go get a WR and TE to help the kid out!

That is exactly what this is. I hope we luck out but idk if we will ever get that lucky as Buffalo sports fans.

  9. On the other hand there are a number of people who have said he has the most upside of any QB in the draft. Bills traded down, got 2 extra picks and got the guy they wanted. No one in Buffalo is ever happy. But I'm sure your friends know more about football than professional scouts.

THE F*@&$*^*@#^$*^#*&*% SCOUTS LAUGHED AT THE PICK!!!!!

You could have drafted Manuel in RND 2. Not only was this a reach but if it doesn't pan out we will get to watch Nassib or Barkely or Geno winning a super bowl while we wallow in mediocrity for another decade. Horrible pick, absolutely terrible. This is a high high risk pick. They better knock it out with round 2.

  10. I am stunned. You all should be outraged that they just wasted a 1st round pick on ###### EJ Manuel. I immediately starting getting messages of ppl laughing and the bills stupidity. He was ranked anywhere from 4thbest to 6/7th and we took him at 16 overall. Buddy Nix is a moron. There were at least 3 QB's who are better and nope we grab a warm weather QB who played in the ACC. Funny thing was the girl I have been on some dates with is a Seminole and we had the draft on when the pick came down... So I start freaking out and she proceeds to calm me down. I am still pissed today. EJ Manuel over Geno, and Nassib, and Barkely.... what the hell were this freaking morons thinking? You could have drafted him in the 2nd round and the f#c#er still would have been there!

This pick sucks and if it were the NHL instead of the NFL I would probably in full mutiny mode. Right now I just hope in 8 Months someone drags this post back up and we magically have gotten lucky with Manuel but I don't see it happening. I really do not see it when ppl who watch more college football in a week than most do in a decade are sending me messages like "Buddy Nix is ###### Idiot"

Watch the Video, even this guy is like WTF?

    /ENDRANT

  11. Why move Glenn to guard when he seemed to do a pretty fine job as a rookie LT?

If the Bills can protect him he should be able to remain healthy. I remember watching some videos of his college play (some time ago) and he would get rocked every fifth play just standing in the pocket and making a throw.

    Valid point.

All I know is that I think Barkley is a bad idea. It isn't that he plays for USC its that he had some decent options and played in a weak conference. I think he looks better than he really will be in the NHL.

I favor Nassib because Syracuse sucked, he had meh receivers from what I understand, and he was in a weak conference but he had to at least overcome something as oppose to smooth sailing.

Honestly it could be my biased and fan boy glasses for Nassib but he looks the best to me.

O but dear god no E.J. Manuel... FSU wasn't bad or anything but just no.

  12. My issues with Wilson is durability and throwing ability. His arm strength is average IMO and there are questions about if he can remain healthy.

The good news is he fits the Bills system and is an SEC product meaning he has played good defenses.

  13. If they Bills can trade back they need to. I don't foresee the run on quarterbacks prior to the end of the 1st or beginning of the second. Maybe Minn would be a good trade partner. See if you can drop to 22nd and get their late 2nd rounder as well.

  14. Tell me again how much you like Drew Stafford's game.

Hodgson has offensive talent, as does Drew Stafford. The idea that Hodgson works harder on the ice more than any other player is a mythical fallacy that hasn't been seen on this board since early last season when posters tried to push Leino's game by talking about "how strong he is with the puck" and how "strong he is in the corners." Hodgson's game is nonexistent in the defensive zone, he has zero physical game and he is as prone to shifts of floating as his team mates.

    tay

I think "Fanboism 101" is a better option.

Two years ago I started talking about a difference in Tyler Myers game and how he appeared to be regressing. How did posters respond, I was 'silly" or a "hater." Where is Tyler Myers game today? Myers game is where I saw it heading two years ago.

How many posters were of the opinion that the Sabres should trade Drew Stafford before they gave him the new contract? I know I was? I said at the time Drew Stafford will never be the that type of player again and that it was all about the contract. Two years later where is Drew Stafford's game? It's where I saw it heading.

Considering my track record, I'll continue to have more faith in my opinions than the fanboi's of this board. So, "troll" on that for awhile.

I thought Myers was just having and off year. Idk if he will ever be great because I think he mentally can't process the game fast enough. Here you seem to currently be correct.

Stafford I argued against his contract, I thought he was overpaid and I said that his 12 goals in 4 games made him extremely streaky.

All that being said, Cody Hodgson will pan out to be a solid #2 center. He will average 65-70pts a season and his defensive game will improve. He will always be better than Kassian who will be a 50-60pt guy for a couple of seasons but go on prolonged stretches of craptastic play.
