  1. We saw different games. But we have different predispositions about hockey style, so that makes sense. I think that game is 10-1 with average goaltending.
  2. You are dead on about the effort. I watched every game. The odds nailed them as 4th place in the group. They upset one team on a couple lucky bounces in the 1st and strong goaltending. The goalie made complete domination by the Canadians a close score.
  3. :clapping:  :(
  4. 3 goals in 6 games, while being outshot 135-211. Zero Power Play goals in 10. That's not talent, nor effort. That's a broken hockey club.
  5. 4.2 GA/g over the last 5 games. Including just giving up 4 goals against the 28th gpg team in the league. ALL OF THE McEICHEL! IN GARTH WE TRUST.
  6. Yes. All of this. I love that the teams are all built differently. As opposed to the NFL where you have 31 teams trying to be, essentially the same thing. (And you also have Chip Kelly)
  7. First Bold: It did not work for Latvia. They lost all of their group games, snuck one out against the Swiss when they scored on 2 of their first 4 shots and had exceptional goaltending (32 of 33) and then they were only in the Canada game because of the Goalie despite being outshot 57-16. It did not work for Latvia. Second Bold: In the NHL the outmatched team rarely gives a crap. Something something something millionaire babies.
  8. It used to be on in the afternoon. You're absolutely right, it's not gonna hurt him. I would have no problem letting him stay up, he just falls asleep. I'm not suggesting all the games be on in the afternoon, but at least the weekend games. So the kids have some energy for it.
  9. Exactly. Bud is cashing in on primetime games at the expense of younger viewers. It's unsustainable, but it's making a boatload of money right now. At least 2 of the WS games MUST have starts no later than 5:30 ET. Little league alone isn't gonna teach kids to watch pro baseball. I had fallen out of love with baseball from Ripken's retirement until 2012, when my son started playing little league and I coached. It changes you.
  10. I'm saying, through the Cuban Example, that I don't care which way the people will vote. It's the right thing to do. It is the Just thing to do. It is the Fair thing to do. We ought to change the laws to reflect that. Until then, we should follow the current laws. I would argue that only one of the four bolded items support your position. And that that items is the one that is the most pliable.
  11. Those teams were fun to watch. Take one guy off those teams, and we struggle to make the playoffs every year. Take one guy off those teams and we do not enjoy watching them. We have empirical data to show that that guy was not Mike Peca. Losers don't get to have attitude.
  12. I will completely concede that the Democrats have an electoral politics motive to want to increase legal immigration and offer citizenship to most long-time residents of the US. But they aren't doing anything illegal. I'm very consistent in my analysis. I believe both immigration avenues to be good for the country. 43 school children were just executed with the assistance of a State Government in Mexico. If the Cubans have just cause for status, why not the Mexicans? Your project voluntarily forfeited the Renewable Energy Production Tax Credit? I see, you're splitting hairs.
  13. It might almost be easier to end up with the 4th pick rather than the 3rd. Or trade #3 for a NHL ready offensive talent.
  14. If you've worked on a Solar or Wind project in the last 15 years, You've worked on a government funded project.
  15. All I'm saying is that no one in this conversation, and no one in the Democratic Party Leadership is attempting to illegally rig the vote as you are contending. Yes, I believe the borders should be open and quota free. I believe in the free movement of people. I believe that offering citizenship to Cubans, allowing them to swing Florida to the right is the right thing to do, despite the electoral advantage it creates for the GOP. We are a nation of immigrants. It works, we've proven it.
  16. There is no one in this conversation, and no one in the Democratic Party Leadership that is suggesting that non-citizens ought to illegally vote. You keep bringing this idea up. People want to alter the laws through the established process. Nothing illegal. It may be a phrasing issue. If so, I encourage you to develop a different phrase.
  17. The State of Kentucky, during the early 2000s downturn, offered tax amnesty. They had hoped to help balance the books by raising $20M...they wound up with almost 4x that much. The forgave people who had broken that law, but they, the people of Kentucky, wound up much better off for it. Sometimes amnesty isn't about rewarding lawbreaking. It is about pragmatism and doing what is in your own best interest. This country would be better off with all her residents being above board and sharing in the responsibilities and benefits.
  18. oh, site's registered to the guy i mentioned.
  19. then who is Chris Firkins?
  20. Testing positive for the disease would stand up to a court challenge, no problem, with lots of easy precedent. "symptoms" would be more in the gray area, but would probably stand up to a challenge, if exposure risk had been elevated by prior action (travel to West Africa, treating current patients, etc.) No symptoms, and ONLY the elevated exposure risk would be a lot harder to stand up against a legal challenge, I think. But then the grey area would depend largely on the definition of "quarantine" (in home, public travel ban, involuntary hospital isolation, etc.)
  21. depends on how you define "Ebola Patient"
  22. I suppose it would depend on the punter or the guard then too, huh? :) (and IMO, the Quarterback would not have to be that great to be more valuable than the game-breaking WR.)
  23. True, but he'll never be as valuable as a quarterback, defensive lineman, or blindside tackle. Even if he's Jerry Rice Junior. In my opinion. (And the aggregate opinion of NFL GMs. :) )
