I know, that's why the smiley. It was just an odd string of topics where you were pointing out mitigating circumstances for the success or failure of certain people. I do think luck plays a rather significant role, but much as we must come to the Movies with a willing suspension of disbelief, we come to sports message boards with a willing suspension of fatalism.

I want a coach who knows exactly what won't work. One who knows exactly how you can never really measure performance. One that understands that no one is really a success or failure because they are simply a product of the QB, the other linemen, the system, the O-Line, or the circumstances. I want Tom Webster. :)

I started my new job today. It was great and wonderful and I am really excited to take it on. But what's Awesome is, when I got home, while I was giving Ollie his regular afternoon high fives, he looked my right in the eye and said, "How was work dad?" I responded, "It was good, I have a great new job." And he said, "That's nice dad." It's the first completely novel, not scripted, conversation I've ever had with him in 3 and a half years. My heart could not be happier right now! :) :) :) :D :D :D :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Agreed. He also retired before many of us have memories. It's tough to have a favorite built on highlights and bar stories.

You think Gil is close to Dom? What is he, maybe the 15th best forward who played between 1970 and 2000? Your talking about the greatest player ever to play his position. He is Greztky with a glove. Orr with a blocker. No one is close.

He was the greatest player every to wear the uniform. Gil isn't even close. Our season tickets were on the opponent shoots twice end because of him. I never saw Gil play a single game. But, damn Dom was fun to watch.
