They have not been nearly as badly out shot in Intraconference Home Games. And they have a lot of those. I don't think this team can go worse than 3-7 over 10. I don't think they can replicate the Messy Beano stretch, unless injuries or further roster manipulation. Given the apparent CHL strength of some of these teams, I think the Sabres will finish in the bottom third, but not the bottom 5.

The Oilers playoff drought is longer than that of the cubs, in a league with far more playoff spots. The Bucks have made the playoffs twice in the last 5 seasons, and have not drafted #1 overall in 10 years. Much worse. Minnesota's ability to draft poorly and then trade that player for an even worse player knows no bounds.

You are correct. In fact, looking at the Packers, every good defense that they have played this year has done exactly what we did yesterday. As good as it feels. This team isn't close yet. They have a great defense, but with no offense, you need an ALL TIME great defense, and we don't have that.

The Capitals offer a fair warning though. It is possible to screw it up.
