So you're saying it would be totally awesome if your are completely wrong about your assessment of the New York Islanders and they manage to Snow their way into DFL. I totally agree. All Hail Garth.
-
How awesome would it be if 8 months from now we find out that you were completely, utterly wrong about this. :) There was an entire thread that went on for days about people doing terrible things to your butt.

Wasn't there some 27 game limit that scratches counted against? I seem to remember something like that coming into play with Grigorenko. ===================================== Suggestion: Auto-correct rule that changes the words "tank" and "Anti-Tank" into " 'I have a difficult time with self control and appropriate conversation' " (for GDT's only)

EA sports "Dynasty/Franchise Mode" has ruined sports fans. It's about next year before this year even starts.

I understand what you're saying. I'm fully aware that my relationship with the automobile is abnormal, bordering on un-American.

It's her cat.

I'm really concerned that she missed dex's vet appointment.

Cars have just never been important to me. I didn't own one until I got married and only then because my wife brought one into the marriage. Before that I took the bus to work and lived in an area where I could walk to everything I needed. And I'm not talking Manhattan or DC here, I'm talking mid-sized Midwestern cities. To me, cars are an unfortunate necessity that literally run on money, support for unfriendly people, and environmental destruction. But I also totally understand people who enjoy them. Absolutely wouldn't recommend my way unless you were already predisposed to it.

Your distrust in western medicine absolutely pales in comparison to the villagers of northern Liberia. You'll have to try much harder to have genuine superstitious fear of hospitals and doctors if you want to create a society capable of sustaining an Ebola outbreak.

I drive an automatic 4-cyl hatchback. My wife's minivan is really fun to drive because, although it's still an auto, and much larger, it's the very first 6-cyl I've ever driven. I feel like Mario Andretti when I roll out onto 5 & 20.

Nope. Meteors to the head are 100% fatal. They are not a bigger threat to public health than Flu. Ebola is really really hard to transmit. And we have the communications and trust in medicine to contain things rather rapidly, as seen in Texas. It's dangerous, it's scary, it's gross as hell, but it is not a bigger threat than 150 Million idiots refusing to get the Flu Shot.
-
The flu does have a much much lower mortality rate. But you are only looking at 1 of many variables that lead to the number of deaths. The biggest travesty, as Claude points out, is that one of these could be reduced by orders of magnitude.
-
If 30 sick people arrived in NY, LA, Chicago, and Houston tomorrow. If they didn't seek help until they were sick for 5 days. If they all took the bus to the hospital. Ebola would kill fewer Americans than preventable flu this winter. I agree it's serious, but as a public health concern, it is not nearly as serious as people choosing to not get the Flu vaccine.

Having been in a car pulled over in Indiana, driven by a black man, through a very nice area, I can assure you that the cops in that state have at least once assumed they were looking for trouble. I don't think it's a terrible leap to extrapolate my experience into something more broad. They were honestly surprised when they came to the drivers side door and saw me in the passenger seat.

You and I both know that he could have left all the important prospects except Girgensons (who is the least likely to be adversely affected by a terrible season because he makes Chuck Norris look like and emotional sissy) in their respective development leagues all season and hit the floor with a team incapable of winning 20 games. I really don't think he's shooting for the lottery (yet).
-
I think you're reading to far into it. Making too many leaps. Could have resigned Hank, simply allowed him to keep his job and accomplished the same thing.
-
see what happens when I make assumptions! my apologies.

Who's talking about race? What I'm saying is the the VAST majority of gourmet Whiskey drinking, Salmon Fishing, NRA member, rural american Ice Hockey fans who actively seek a supply of fresh sustainable sturgeon are unlikely to be asked for ID by the police. You're the one bringing race into it.
-
A recent study by GCOESO showed that nearly 100% of people who make that choice are arrogant/overly proud about it.
-
It is unlikely that you will ever be asked for ID as a passenger in a vehicle, or anywhere else.
-
I think this mostly has to do with the addition of the 7 new teams from the Central Hockey League. ECHL is now one stop shopping like AHL is for that tier.

This is absolutely dead on. Leave the entertainment presentation to an entertainment presentation professional. Dear Teddy, Please go to Hollywood or NY and hire a real live producer for the in-game presentation. Sincerely, Everyone.

Don't ask 20-40 year-old's what songs they like to sing as loud as possible. Just pick a song and put the words up. In the beginning, pipe in the sound of a crowd singing the song. Keep doing it, eventually groupthink will take over and you won't need the piped in crowd chorus any more.
