    This was actually an interesting story on NPR yesterday(maybe?). Charities are having a hard time raising money to assist in this outbreak, because Americans don't view public health as charity work, but as a government function. So we expect the same from other countries. This was contrasted against earthquakes or tsunamis, where american's are ready and willing to donate in large numbers, because we'd do the same here (like we did after Katrina or Sandy). Apparently, fighting disease is something we actually think our government is useful for.

    Well, Brietbart, linking to an editorial piece, written by non-medical doctors. Seems legit. Also, Breitbart's lead in "The highly respected Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota just advised the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) that “there is scientific and epidemiologic evidence that Ebola virus has the potential to be transmitted via infectious aerosol particles,” including exhaled breath." Is a classic false headline. CIDRAP published an oped from two industrial hygienists from The University of Illinois. They didn't advise the CDC of anything. I hate this ######. Not saying it's not aerosol borne, just saying that this reporting does nothing to swing me either way.

    Not haphazardly invading and destroying communities in the Middle East would do wonders to ensure the safety of our fellow citizens. It's not about protecting iraqis. That war was a mistake because it harmed us.

    I still think it's prudent to take into consideration the possibility that we don't fully understand a virus that has infected fewer than 100,000 people in all of history. Weave may very well be right that there is something we're missing. You are also correct, that none of the evidence so far points to a repeat of 1919.

    I think we took for granted that nurses with zero training would magically be able to protect themselves because we aren't as stupid as the healthcare workers in Liberia. I think we got cocky.

    Confirmation Bias. The same reason I can come to the conclusion with each succeeding new story out of the Vatican that Pope Francis is going to liberalize the church. Like the Times? If it is an airborne (not projected phlegm or vomit, but a legitimate clinical airborne) vector, we are all completely ###### as soon as this gets to Nigeria (oil, 200M people), North Africa (oil, constant travel to Europe), or most terrifyingly, Ivory Coast (chocolate).

    If such a poster were to exist. Lord Zemgus would definitely be on the shortlist. But said poster may be holding out to see what Nikita can do, for sentimental reasons... At least, that would be my guess.

    The Sabres-Ducks is a greater talent differential than the Latvia-Switzerland matchup. Perfectly suitable for a direct comparison. Or we could use Nolans 90s Sabres. The body of work is extensive.

    57 -16 That's the shot differential in the Canada Game that they we're "in" That's all goal-tending. The rest of the games we're much better, averaging getting outshot 2-1, and allowing 2 of Switzerlands 3 total goals for the tournament. We have THAT Ted Nolan. 57-16

    What is the mechanism if he ultimately cant be placed on the London Roster? does it void the CHL agreement and allow him to go the Rochester? Please say yes.
