They've doubled down here in Puerto Rico, temp checks at any establishment, also this sign in my car rental shuttle.... To be honest this made me laugh out loud, which was probably also against the rules 😂😂

Some of the things are more missteps than "mistakes" we started letting visitors in, and then bending policies a bit more. I have several students and they were letting them in the hospital and then not, and then again and now my students aren't allowed in after Monday, which is sad because they need the experience, especially in times like these. They have been letting those positive continue to work as long as they are asymptomatic, I think there in lies the culprit. That also mixed with positive staff going out an mingling with each other, many large groups outside the bars these days ever since Bonas is back in action. I think they are talking about requiring 2 tests a week for all employees once we get a rapid test machine. Also we are going to require testing for all admissions once that happens too, which probably should have been initiated sooner.

I was alluding more to local leaders, specifically hospital ones, ya know, the ones with MBAs and no medical experience.... I don't get into national politics at all. Either way a good chunk of the positive cases are fairly asymptomatic, or with minimal symptoms. A good chunk of the bad cases I see are relating to those who have a lot of issues. Again, mostly self induced.

15 nurses have tested positive here at the hospital, one teacher and one student have tested positive and they're closing school next week until they decide what to do. This small little county is losing its mind, it's almost like the people in charge didn't do a good job with this.....

They have exploded in popularity over the last 5 years with social media, people come up with all kinds of stupid ways to have blue or pink explode and etc.... The Amazon and Pantanal are on fire and it's highly believed it's arson related to plant more sugar cane and coffee. Greed. Side note, I was in Sao Paolo today, it's devastating how it looks, the city center was just sprawled with tents and homeless people, Covid has really dessimated the place other than the elite, not from sickness but from the economic fallout.... Meanwhile there was a dumb @ss teenage girl doing glamour shots with a friend in the street for Instagram pics while in the background was pure devastation. I'm so glad I can't speak portuguese or it may have been bad. I feel I may need to start doing some medical work in Brazil after some of this trip.

Today was great, I met my friends in Sao Paolo after taking a helicopter over Igazu falls in the morning. They are amazing guys, been married for some time and I met them in Peru a few years ago. Erich even proposed to me in public 😂😂😂. Had some traditional food here and it was splendid. Heading home soon, but I would urge anyone who was on the fence about Brazil to visit, an amazing culture!

I love hot sauces, and anything can follow my posts 🙂 I found an awesome Brazilian hot sauce down here, the owner of the apartment gave me a bottle as a gift but stupid airport security kept me from bringing it because it was something like 5ml over. I only packed my Kelty so no checked bags.
