  1. Take some of the world's most insufferable people and put them in a room and you have the Grammies.. Or a SS meet-up eh πŸ˜‰ Seriously, just vaporize some hallucinogenics or something in the room and then it'll be a real show.
  2. I honestly forgot they were off for a week. But now I'm getting pumped for 11 dollar tickets.
  3. Well, I'm sure there are always things. Those are wayyyy out of my scope and things that I'm just not familiar with. Most of the sports medicine I know is from personally being injured from being a dumbass πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  4. Do you know something we don't πŸ€”πŸ€”
  5. I skiied up in Quebec last week, it was decent, but the locals said that the slopes just opened and that was crazy for them. Ive heard that J peak and Killington have snow but it's been super rainy
  6. I just want to ski, these resorts are gonna have a hard time keeping prices down (and they're already inflated) I can't remember 2 consecutive winters as poor for overall snow coverage and warm temps.
  7. I trust a good portion of the sabres medical team.. I know a few of them personally. But, I also know some that I wouldn't vouch for... Just like in any hospital I've ever worked at πŸ˜‚ I'm not Ortho expert by any means, but I do have a heavy hand in dealing with trauma. This is a message board, none of us know anything. Hell, even my diagnosis guess could be way off, but it just fits from what I have seen and the timing. I'm also getting older and feel like getting out of bed causes an 8 week injury these days. I've been posting here for over 10 years now I believe, I've had many medical discussion with the patrons of this board. I'm not upset by your take on it. If Quinn was my patient, I wouldn't be at liberty to say what was going on. My "opinion" is that it's stupid to have him play at the end of a meaningless season. Strengthening the surrounding muscles after an injury of this nature will pay huge dividends for future Quinn, I'd personally take the extra few weeks of heavy rehab so next year, he can come back with even less risk to his twice affected lower half. Any who, agree to disagree here 🍺
  8. That's well and good, and sure helps bring young, in shape and "rich" with medical staff around the clock. But there isn't any proven way to remodel bone faster and other than PRP and ultrasound Shockwave therapy, etc these things take time, we can cut off a little bit of time from the above mentioned. Maybe he will come back in 6 weeks. A lot of pro athletes do it all the time, it doesn't mean they're actually ready to. It's typically case by case (must win game, playoffs on the line, etc) this current iteration of the buffalo sabres at this point in time, has zero reason to rush any healing injury. In 6 weeks if were knocking on the door, maybe we can revisit that.
  9. I was sober... Me thinks that if I was drunk, the bathrobe would have hot made it with me to Tim Hortons πŸ˜‚
  10. I went to Tim Hortons this morning in my bathrobe and a similar hat. Someone pulled up that scene and said it was me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  11. Probably that broken jaw had something to do with it no? But in general, this whole team is *****
  12. I was still waiting for something to happen to the Sharks. But as always...the team just had nothing to give. I'm not even talking about a fight or being dirty. Maybe my military training gave me a different sense of "team" This team is just soooo easy to root against this season.
  13. What... I was told that they aren't allowed to.... Blasphemy.
  14. I'm a doctor that sees all kinds of issues with patients that think they're healed, then push it, then have a setback. Sometimes minor and sometimes, they need to have another procedure. If we were pushing for the playoffs then, OK, maybe. But this team is a train wreck, Quinn now has 2 serious injuries in a short span of time. Shut it down, really let that $hit heal until next season when we may finally decide to field a winning team (ha).
  15. I think you underestimate the amount of time it takes to recover from surgery.
  16. 8 weeks doesn't mean it's fully healed, sure on an xray, but the surrounding ligaments, plus conditioning. Also the sabres aren't making the playoffs, so take the extra time, rehab, strengthen the surrounding muscles to take the stress of the already injured area and hit it hard next year. Ah, the ol "kid" phrase got me lol. We do know that Weber was unstable eh πŸ˜‰
  17. It's different in kids because of growth plates. They grade them as salter-Harris fractures. Those are much more surgical than someone who has fully matured bones. Now, there are always caveats. Professional athletes and certain breaks require different care, it's all situational. The fact we heard nothing and then a surgical outcome means Jack should absolutley be shut down for the rest of the year.
  18. Russia will withdraw from Ukraine long before we sniff that sweet smell of the postseason.
  19. 8 weeks is about normal for a lot of things. Bone fractures are typically a 6-8 week time frame, but what was the surgery? Was it a minor procedure they dub "surgical" did they have to pin or plate the area. Could there have been a tendon/ligament issue that they threw a holding suture in place to allow it to heal in 8 weeks. The therm surgical is always tough to decipher, because even something as small as a local anasthtic and relatively superficial repair is still touted as surgery. In my opinion, it probably was a fracture of the ankle, a bimalleolar would be preferred to a trimalleolar (which includes the tibia) and those are always surgical to repair as the ankle is broken and dislocated and are very unstable until fixed. We don't see surgery for simple fibular fractures so my brain goes to a worse injury.
  20. I'm just sad they picked Cabo. I guess I can't really be upset about people traveling when they can, I have zero room to talk there. But.... They suck as a team and this trip isn't helping them at all.
  21. Epic choke job by the lions... I probably won't even care to watch the super bowl this year.
