  1. I don’t remember the details but I think it was around the time of a new labor contract and operating expenses were going way up.
  2. The Rich’s pursued it back when Pilot Field was first built. They pulled their submission to MLB when they determined that the finances just weren’t there to make it work.
  3. I’ve never held my tongue or sugar coated things. It was an honest reply.
  4. I only care because it drags down the level of conversation. Obviously you’re free to comment on the sections you want, but it becomes meaningless if you drop out context.
  5. The answer is, it was set up this way so it could be an issue to rally the base around again for 2020, and they can’t very well come out and say that because it would show just how non-crisis this crisis really is.
  6. Why do you consistently grab onto the one word or phrase that you don’t like and completely disregard the rest? There were qualifiers on top of experience that eliminate Bylsma completely.
  7. Glad to see you've come around. Are you new here?
  8. Crisis. It's right there in the headline. Sorry, I had to.
  9. When we look back at Golisano and Rigas, one thing that stands out to me right along with the warts was, they expected to win even with the shackles that were put on the team. There was no “it’s ok to lose now”. There was an expectation of success even with substantial limitations. And none of this ***** is free. The emotional investment as well as financial investment of the fanbase is pretty substantial. I think you can make a case that an ownership that expects fan support through all this also has a pretty strong sense of entitlement, which was your strongly implied point.
  10. How soon people forget Bowman and Ruff, innit? I'm convinced coaches switching lines more often than fans are comfortable with is a thing everywhere.
  11. Really want to hear more about this. Last Summer I fished 8 bodies of water in western NY, saw eagles on 5 of them, ospreys on all of them. Up until less than 10 years ago, I think I saw maybe 4 eagles in my lifetime, none in NY.
  12. Pin. This. Thread.
  13. I'm not sure we've got alot on LA right now.
  14. It's not a de facto exclude. This team lacks experience, especially experience with what it takes to win at this level.
  15. They aren't getting through elite levels of hockey without knowing that. I don't think they need to be coached into it.
  16. Those chances also turn into gold when they are coming from high danger areas in tight. Most of the time this team wasn't playing to get chances in tight. And I don't think that was a Housley thing. Players weren't getting to the net and Housley talked about the need to do so.
  17. We're about 2 pages away from all caps and full tin foil hat woo.
  18. Maybe immature is the better word. They need a stronger voice in the room. Housley was the wrong guy for that reason alone.
  19. It's all right out of the Breitbart and Infowars playbook.
  20. I’ll play the iconclast role. IMO it’s another pattern that deserves scrutiny.
  21. You read into it something that wasn’t there. The point was simple. We don’t need to see what might work. The data is showing that what we are doing now is already working, regardless of the state propaganda being spewed.
  22. I like this take. Never been a fan of forcing a future system on an incomplete team. Need a vet coach for this young team.
  23. You do realize that every bit of published data on illegal entry into the country and crime committed by both legal and illegal immigrants has been trending downward for many years, right? This is a solution in search of a problem. Offered by" proponents of smaller government" no less.
  24. Hoo boy. That would make him unfit for the position, me thinks.
