Chris Collins Arrested by FBI

I'm definitely in a strong Never Democrats area. Blows me away that someone would prefer a known law breaker that can't possibly help the district due to sanctions over even a moderate Democrat. McMurray's platform was very moderate and he was immediately, and still, dismissed as a Cuomo-Pelosi Democrat around here, near universally. -
Just saw it. Enjoyed it. Like most Star Wars films, the end was cheesy.

And the folks here in the core area of the 27th are still saying they would rather vote for him while he is in prison than vote for a Dem. Politics is every bit as hateful towards the other side as religion and racism. -
I’m going to see it today. I think the most respectful thing to do is at least wait until its no longer in theaters.

The embellishments go both ways, although I think the embellished flaws tend to be bigger embellishments around here. And don’t discount what we went through to get him coloring expectations. Given what was done, there should be an expectation of higher return. That’s not Sam’s fault though. He cannot control that we threw away the better part of a decade to draft him. Really, Malkin level is the justification for that, not Sam.
-
That was ligers point. He said university because he was referring to large schools.
-
Perfect preparation for working for a big company. Me too. Nothing more humbling, and sometimes downright degrading, than a job search.
-
Sams “fault” is he doesn’t have a flashy, dynamic game. That description can be used to describe a power forward or a Mogilny. Sam is neither. His game is more controlled. Maybe even dull. I think we’d think alot better about Sam if we had a good 2nd line and the first line wasn’t so exposed. I also think that there is value in exploring if another style player wouldn’t be more beneficial to the team overall. But, Sam is pretty damned good and we’d need to make sure we don’t take a step backwards in that change, which is a very distinct possibility. I don’t recall another Sabre who is so under appreciated by some and over appreciated by others at the same time.

Rammstein just released a teaser of their US tour this Summer. Sounds like a late Summer tour with less than 10 dates. Looks like NY, PA, Ont will get shows. My son and I are committing to go to one. This is a bucket list show for us. I’m excited already and they haven’t even announced dates.

I seem to recall that Burke was GM in Van at the time and the consensus was that his statement was likely part of a negotiation ploy. I think that was the year we swapped Kassian for Hodgson.
-
I’m thinking it had to do with something else.

That has never once happened to me. *border

That proposal is one bottom 6 forward and 1 forward destined for the European leagues.

The base got traded TO tank.

Developing players includes putting them into situations where they will succeed. Not just on an individual level, but at a group level. Just because GMTM moved picks and prospects doesn’t mean he was ignoring developing young players. He was also trying to build an organization that would succeed, so the players developed skills and habits that would continue the success. You can’t drop 20 kids into an organization that doesn’t have mid and late career players well populated in it. Obviously it wasn’t successful, but that is partially a function of “who”, not “what”. It was also a function of there not being enough of an organizational base to build from. And that lack of base to build from would hamstring any rebuild.

The Astros took the low road to build that roster, and never turned off the low road it would seem. What a black mark on sports overall.

They weren’t head hits, but I thought both those hits were clearly charges. 4+ heavy strides into him. And with pretty obvious intent to injure. Kassian was more or less in a position where he wasn’t going to be able to brace for those hits. Those were live by sword, die by the sword hits.

I only saw 2 periods yesterday, but it seemed to me that Vessey looked decent on the 1st line. Did that go away in the 3rd? -
They were still winning until Mitts showed up, no? I only casually follow them. Totally casual observation so I could be off, but it sure seemed like the team was doing well until he arrived.
-
***** that Kassian is getting a hearing for that. Ray Ferraro said it well last night, that's the same kind of hits that the league cracked down on Raffe Torres for. The second hit especially was a blatant charge.
-
I suspect THAT will be a deterrent to future shenanigans,.
