Greenway is a player who shows up big for the 1st 20 games by means of being healthy and physically bullying the smaller skilled players that are still rusty; disappears for the next 40 due to a number of reasons like injuries and then reappears for the last 20 when defensive play is of a premium and harder checking is more frequent. Reminds me a tad of Pominville’s 2nd stint here in how the middle 40 is nothing to celebrate but on the ends their a force.

My guess is it’s more to do with his previous injury in combination to some degree of Ruff changing some of his game.

Makes sense, most specifically in the case of Thompson who looked very effective last night including a great 200ft play but couldn't find the net on his shots. Thompson is a slow starter so I don't expect him to get rolling until late October which is when he tends to explode. It seems as if it takes him a handful of games to fully lock-on target with his howitzer

I had thought he was slightly overpaid but would save us a bit on the back end; sadly barring a turn around it looks like a complete failure. I can't remember exactly my original stance on it however.

Frankly he played and looked the part aside from his injuries. Then last year it seemed like he suddenly decided he wanted to be offensively competent and he spiraled rapidly.

The fact they called that penalty on Zucker after he was pile drived earlier in the game as well as Lafferty was hit from behind is straight absurd. The fact that we can’t seem to get one ***** game where the opposing goalie doesn’t make at least 4 marquee saves is plain aggravating. We completely outplayed them nearly the entire game and yet their goalie stood on his head and the Sabres PP can’t score to save their lives.
