  1. Ryan is more or less the most I can get with Calgary fans having fit. Thompson is either playing or traded and Cozens should start on the wing. I could add Thompson to the Chicago trade and drop the 2nd perhaps but that would still leave us short a RW.
  2. Technically similar money to last time at 77mil cap but without the Fleury move we'd be at about 74mil salary. https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1947808
  3. Technically you are confusing Cap Hit with Salary. But oddly all my specific targets with salary savings end up almost perfectly matching Skinner's +1mil Stupid Skinner making 10mil. At the end of the day though we need at least that much to be a playoff team. I have no interest in just sticking a bunch more bandaids on the roster and watching the team start well and then break the bandage and bleed out again. For instance your team here won't make the playoffs barring Staal putting up 35 goals. The D is very weak and you bought out Hutton which is just a waste of time. If not moved for Fluery just bury him in the minors and save the cap for next year. I highly doubt Chicago trades Saad at 50% retention so cheaply. Bonino, in my opinion, isn't worth giving that much up for so he can be our 3C. Furthermore, even if Fleury were to drag the salary up into the 76mil range I'd guess the Pegulas would be fine with it since they are supposedly interested in Petrangelo because he's a good person and player which Fleury certainly is to a degree. Plus he played in Pittsburgh when they'd of been watching their games prior to buying the team. I really don't see it that way at all, an added benefit perhaps, but we arguably got the better player regardless of his age. Both are only on 1 year deals and Staal is a true center versus Johansson who is more of a winger. It would be a different story if we traded Johansson for another similar player but older and cheaper. I do agree we need some internal growth but I have zero interest in praying for Cozens, to a lesser degree Mitts, or some other future prospect can reach 2C levels after one year. I'd go full forecheck on getting Cirelli and if we can't then I'd go after Danault; if they demand an absurd cost then look at Tierney. Tierney would sort of be my beta plan after Cirelli as he'd be cheaper and more of short term 2C/later 3C type of player. Marc Staal would be a perfect depth Dman candidate if he bought out by the Rangers. A sub-million contract should suffice due to his buyout paycheck. Plus Carolina is flooded with dmen and we have his other brother.
  4. I just don’t think Buffalo makes a good partner with Chicago. No interest in Strome, and Saad will likely have multiple suitors. We aren’t going to get real value in trading a 2nd a prospect for a year of Saad. As for Cozens I have him at RW since he’s a righty and young hence start him on the wing and let him work his way into a center role. Ideally you pair him with Staal and Kahun so even when Cozens gains enough confidence; the line can stay with the same 3 guys. Adams definitely knows how to work with the Pegulas and I don’t think his supposed low 70s salary point is a impenetrable wall. If he goes, “I’ve acquired a great young centerman in Cirelli and need 6 mil per year for his contract” I highly doubt they will scoff at it. They may be tone deaf but they do want to win.
  5. He still wants to win and I doubt a couple million will deter him. He isn't broke, he's cost cutting. Thus if Adams tells him he needs 75mil to make a great team then I doubt he's going to say no.
  6. I honestly don't believe the whole low 70's thing. I believe they'd like to not spend 81.5 mil + but I don't think they will handcuff Adams
  7. Give Reinhart and Cirelli 4.5 mil each this year and make it either mid or back loaded. Waalah, you are at about 72mil
  8. Not necessarily depending on how you structure the contracts. That team is at about 75/76mil salary
  9. How does this look https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/369354
  10. Hmm, I got Fleury and NJ's 3rd for Hutton. Would that be adequate?
  11. Perry the Platypus
  12. So what were the results good sir/mam?
  13. I'm curious about the first part. The second part needs to burn in fire until only ashes remain and then be cremated into fine air particles.
  14. Not necessarily, the Pegulas aren’t broke but, like many other teams, are trying to reduce their financial losses.
  15. I don't think you quite understand what I was trying to get to. PA quite literally rarely has anything to say that isn't some type of veiled insult or contempt for the organization. As Eleven pointed out; he never said a thing until a negative narrative was brought up. You can hate moves, ideas, people; I'm not saying you can't. I'm saying that not everything is evil or doomsday and without any "liked" events it drags down the credibility and usefulness of any further point you may bring up. PA seems to focus only on negative events, anger inducing events and anything surrounding the Pegulas that can be seen as negative. At this point there seems to be nothing he wouldn't twist into a negative light. PA comes across no longer as a fan as much as someone who desires the Pegula's to fail, Sabres be damned. Lastly you can't only criticize; without any positives you come across as either agenda-driven and/or the person is oblivious. The Sabres could win the Stanley Cup and by how PA behaves he would still want the Pegulas' effigies burned for their perceived errors. All of it has become grating.
  16. To be honest if you are Sabres fan you need some serious counseling; as no one should despise an ownership to the degree you do. You don't just come off as unhappy or negative but rather full of vitriol against the Pegulas. Not to mention over time it seems to have become worse on your end as it went from general issues about their specific actions to that of something akin to a person who had their child enslaved by the Pegulas and is holding them for ransom. If you aren't a Sabres fan then we don't need your aggressively depressive thoughts on this board as a whole. At the end of the day the franchise is owned and ran by the Pegulas.... no matter how much you want them to take a long walk off a short pier they are likely here to stay for quite some time. So I would suggest either learning to deal with it or find a different team/hobby/or so on as we other forum goers can't do anything about it. It's honestly disappointing how you've gone from cynical with legit points to a negative Nancy who seems to almost desire only the worst outcomes to continue your self-recycled points of anger.
  17. To be honest I'm still going after a 2C like Cirelli, Danault, Tierney, etc even with Staal. If you can get a 2C and force Staal down to 3C we'll have a very solid team offensively.
  18. Can we trick them into thinking Dvorak is 26? Otherwise they don't have a ton of interesting assets.
  19. I'd guess he's more hurt by how Minnesota unceremoniously dumped him more than disdain for coming to Buffalo. Very possible; the only other teams I could see him being willing to play for would be NYR and Carolina due to his brothers.
  20. No interest in helping Toronto in any way. Especially if it gave them a better shot at Pieterangelo
  21. I’d still go after Cirelli, Danault, or Tierney. If we can make Staal our 3C with Cozens as his RW we’d be in a great situation
  22. According to Russo they intend for Johansson to be a C in Minnesota.
  23. Staal also had 1g and 4 assists in the Wild's 4 game series in the Qualifiers.
  24. Didn't I mention Staal back when we hired Adams as a idea due to their past together? Quite a good deal
  25. A tiny bit depending on price and if there’s any retention.
