  1. Elliott has been good against us regardless of team he’s been on which makes zero sense.
  2. I utterly despise Elliott and his uncanny success against Buffalo. Crash the net, bang up the bastard!
  3. No way To me, the 2023 1st is untouchable as is the likes of Savoie, Kulich, Quinn and Peterka.
  4. I think its more akin to next season; he's using this year to weed through their many NHL aged prospects and acquire pieces that may come available in the meantime. For instance, due to injuries UPL and Mitts were both completely up in the air in regards to their future.
  5. He was Jankowski’s replacement and should of understood his role. It certainly didn’t help him that he helped lose us a game by taking an offensive zone lazy penalty. The Sabres gave him an brief opportunity but he never showed anything of value besides being a good AHL vet. He knew from the onset that we were leaning to playing younger players; if it honestly surprises him that a lesser player presently but higher potential player gets time over him that’s on him, not the Sabres
  6. Well that turns me off rather fast lol.
  7. Isn’t he generally seen as pretty good defensively more than often? Also he’s pretty physical if I remember correctly
  8. Only an idiot would think that he, a tweener that's 30+ should get the nod over a high end prospect. We aren't playing Bjork over him...
  9. So exactly what were we supposed to do, he refused to report to Rochester after signing a 2 way contract with us and being beat out by multiple other players.
  10. Well that's somewhat surprising; it wasn't like he did that well in his game or two up here.
  11. I'd offer Östlund, Jokiharju, Mitts and our 2nd in 2023 but our 1sts are off limits
  12. My comments will be withheld until we play NJ again. After being chased for most of the 1st and part of the 2nd; they really did seem to adapt and start turning the tide a bit. Sadly, it came a bit too late and with the lack of penalties called and an idiotic quick whistle we may have been able to tie it. Thompson's line had a lukewarm game but were surprisingly physical, especially in the 3rd. The good news is we hit the post 2 or 3 times and their goalie got lucky with a couple bounces so we were certainly creating scoring chances.
  13. Only the last minute; they hemmed them well for the 3 to 130 mark
  14. They are playing well enough but their damn goalie keeps making saves.
  15. First half was rough, second half wasn’t to awful
  16. Where the AHL truly fails in preparing players is in the sheer degree of general play style. The AHL still have teams who play like its 2002 (Belleville and others that approach things more modern style. The level of skill greatly differs from the best to the worst and I'd say it's rather obvious that playmakers will have a far harder time than scorers due to their requirement of a 2nd player with talent.
  17. Carolina weren't a scrub team, but were extremely lucky in the playoffs with every competitor having critical injuries. Additionally Cam Ward was truly a 1 hit wonder for them that year. Buffalo had a far better team when healthy and seeing as we took them to 7 games using a Defense held together with glue and scotch tape.
  18. Weirder things have happened We are better than Detroit when healthy I understand the math, but if an 8 game losing streak is the end then all the other teams that had 7/8 game losing streaks are all doomed.
  19. Well aren't you peachy, I wouldn't start with the doom and gloom yet however. They did better than a 104 pt pace to finish last season so who's to say they can't this year for a long stretch.
  20. If he scores twice tonight he'd have 15 in 20 🙂
  21. The Sabres started the 1st great, got into penalty trouble, to a degree due to "Game Management" but killed the penalties and while scrambly looked okay. This idea they were on their heels from the 3rd minute of the 1st through the 2nd is BS. If we were on our heels, then MTL were on their heels anytime we had an offensive chance. The 3rd can be summed up as MTL having a bit of life, Buffalo drawing a penalty, scoring shortly after the PP and then taking it to the Canadiens for the remainder of the 3rd. One thing that is very noticeable is how much better their defense looks with Muel back there. Dahlin and him truly make each other even better than they are alone and situations rarely get completely out of hand with the two of them out there. It also allows Power to lessen his TOI and play with Jokiharju whom he works well with. The 3rd pair is more or less Bush-Bear and whichever Bryson shows up. (Bryson must have a twin who subs in from time to time because I have never seen a guy start seasons/ come off long press box stints so well only to after 5 to 10 games turn into a literal defensive mess)
  22. https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3768584 How do these ideas look? Krebs went to Rochester
  23. How does Olofsson and a 4th for Dillon and a 3rd sound to you guys?
