Does Jack go to the Pegulas and say take some money off my next cheque to cover a box for a charity, or does the team just give it to him to put his name and charity on it?

I think it's in how it's done. Parading around taking selfies of you at some charity events is usually looked at being poor. Talking about or showing support for a certain cause or charity and doing work there seems to be more accepted and noble. Many celebrities show up to take a few photos and just say they support the cause, others show up and do things to help, but they rarely advertise that they are there It's funny though, athletes/entertainers start talking about a cause or an issue and they get told to shut up and play/entertain. If they dont do anything they are looked at as being only about themselves.

Thats usually how I look at and judge coaches. Do they need to force a system onto the players in order to be good, or can they adapt to coaching what they have.

I don't think it mattered. The issue is more if Botts thinks he is worth what Skinner is going to ask for, not who the coach will be I don't think there was ever an issue between Skinner and Housley, but there will be an issue between what Botts wants to pay and what Skinner wants to be paid

Well it would be different circumstances, this time he would be expected to get them to play well and win instead of embarrassing themselves by losing every game....

It is relevant because even the greatest player to play the game can be traded, it just shows no one is untouchable. There may have been other circumstances behind the deal, but it still shows that any player can be moved.

I dont know, for the last few years here (and for a long time on the Bill's board) everyone keeps saying how you have to tank to get the best pick possible if your not a contender. Winning out or getting 'meaningless wins' late in the season dont so anything for the team except cost them draft positioning. Apparently you just accumulate highly rated projects and one day flip the switch to start winning and become a contender.....

I said it when they signed him, he has never played a full season as a starter, he had one season over his career where he played around 60 games. He is a backup/1b at the very best. At his age, he is not likely to just become a very good starter.

The same could be said once when a team traded a young Wayne Gretzky.......

Yeah, but Murray went from 81 DOWN to 78, Botterill went from 62 UP to atleast 72, so since it is going UP, thats positive! Yup, just trying to see things from the sunshine and rainbows view and prepare for the worst that both of these guys are back next season to sell more damaged goods......
