They aren't in a position to be good cause management continues to neglect the roster and think that they will just automatically become good at some point because the have prospects and development guys. There is no need to waste and throw away seasons waiting. Trade and sign talent until the prospects force themselves into a roster spot. No one's ever been ruined by spending extra time in the minors. When the prospects make the roster, trade away the vets that were in the way for prospects or picks....

Did they forget to let Botts know the FA period has opened for the NHL team? Guess he is going to outsmart everyone and ***** Gilmour and Dea before the good teams realize what they are missing by signing NHL players.......
-
But losing a 1st round pick for a playoff team to take a bad contract off your hands isn't that bad when the pick is in the 20s....
-
Yeah, but they still need to upgrade their defence to improve their team. And Marner isn't taking a home town discount, he wasn't to get paid. If they don't upgrade their defence and find a backup goalie so they don't ride Anderson into the ground again just getting through the regular season, they won't be a threat to anyone.....
-
This is why theres no point complaining about cap space and contracts if it gives your team a chance to get better. There's always a team that's willing to take your bad contracts when you need the space.....

Your predictions: what is Botterill going to do?

And if they don't want to be uprooted Nd have to relocate, they can get themselves a nice office or factory job close to where they want to live and not have to move. For 10-20 years of your life at a young age, you get to play a game and make millions then get to retire and spend the rest of your life living comfortably where ever you want if you didn't waste it all stupidly during your career.... -
Ryan Miller indicates this is his final season
apuszczalowski replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
Yeah, I didn't get where that was coming from after reading it here. It seemed more like he was just saying he's playing at least one more year in Anaheim, but nothing about it being his last year in the NHL. Seems that's up to the Ducks/Cali teams as to whether they want him as a backup and keep playing. -
Sabres RFAs Receiving Qualifying Offers from the Team
apuszczalowski replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Why is the logo on his shirt digitally altered? He's already wearing a Jags shirt? -
Is that the new 'arbys deal' of 5x5 from years ago? (Briere?)
-
Hopefully he can do better then TM did when he made his deals from a position of power. ......

The 2 guys who were supposed to be the saviours of the franchise have put in some hard work in the offseason (learning to ride tandem bikes?) Has gotten the team where exactly? It hasn't shown up in games, and they don't appear to be very angry about losing that they play harder to win (there's been many comments in game day threads about Jacks effort during games) No one was cheering for a tank? Really?
-
Out of that bunch, Nolan was probably the best and got the most of of the very little he was given to work with. He was the sacrificial lamb sent out to the slaughter in the tank years, here to appease the fans that a favorite was brought back and hopefully make everyone pay less attention to the standings.....

I'm sure that's what he was trying to do, but he is only one player. One of the only ones who wasn't happy just collecting a paycheck to lose
-
I think it's based off of regular season and playoffs aren't included He definitely deserves to be a finalist and if won, is deserving. The team really turned it around when he came in, and goaltending can carry a team more then one player putting up really good stats. When a goalie is playing well and putting up good stats, the team is usually doing well. When another player puts up really good stats (example is Jeff Skinner) it may not make a difference to the team overall. As for a rookie goalie winning a cup in the past, I believe there have been a few. Most recent being Murray in Pittsburgh?

Maybe not vocally cheering losses at games, but supporting losing for better draft positioning was done while ROR was here.

The 2019 Stanley Cup Final. St Louis vs Boston
apuszczalowski replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Has there ever been a season where 2 teams have done 180s in opposite directions at the same time? One of the first teams to ever lead the league in November to missing the playoffs and one of the first teams to ever be in last place around that time to winning a cup. -
The difference is that he is saying those things and putting the pressure on him to help his team win the Cup, in Buffalo he was putting the pressure on him to win a regular season game so the team won't be as embarrassing while the fans were cheering on losses for better draft positioning.
-
We don't even know that, the only thing we do know about OReilly is that he was sock and tired of losing and the consistent losing made him lose his enjoyment of playing the game. He goes to a team that is playing to win a cup (not the draft lottery) and he is the MVP of the playoffs.

NHL - Buffalo (Aud & KBC), Toronto (ACC) OHL - Niagara/St Catharines (Meridian Centre), Hamilton (First Ontario - but not for hockey just concerts) NFL - Buffalo, Chicago (Soldier) NBA - Toronto (Skydome when the Raptors started, game was Jordans last season with Bulls) MLB - Toronto, Clevland, Chicago (Wrigley where I caught a foul ball & I have been outside Commerica but we didn't end up going to the game) While in Clevland I was around where the Cavs play and the Browns stadium. in Arizona I was outside the Diamondbacks stadium and went by the Cardinals stadium and A's spring training facility.

This could force RJ into retirement, or an early grave..... -
They could nominate Ray again? As for the boxes/tickets, I always wondered if that was actually paid for by the player or team under the players name. Does Jack go to the Pegulas and say take some money off my next cheque to cover a box for a charity, or does the team just give it to him to put his name and charity on it?
-
I think it's in how it's done. Parading around taking selfies of you at some charity events is usually looked at being poor. Talking about or showing support for a certain cause or charity and doing work there seems to be more accepted and noble. Many celebrities show up to take a few photos and just say they support the cause, others show up and do things to help, but they rarely advertise that they are there It's funny though, athletes/entertainers start talking about a cause or an issue and they get told to shut up and play/entertain. If they dont do anything they are looked at as being only about themselves.

I dont know, which one of them comes from Sweeden?

There are rumors that theres a bit of a rift between him and Dubas the GM, but I think it's highly unlikely they can him for an early exit. Although there are some vocal Leaf fans calling for his head..... I always cheer for both to lose, or a sink hile to open up under the arena during one of the games
