Shite. I don't really know what to make of all this. Never listened to the press conference but from what I can tell by way of this thread it didn't go too well. The Buffalo press did the people of Buffalo a great disservice for not focussing on what was important. Who the hell cares about TPs vanishing act. I'm more interested in DRs slight of hand. I want to know if he's going to stretch this rebuild into 5 years or more to add to his longevity with this franchise. Lower expectations and no one expects anything from you. This franchise is entering league joke status. I mean who else is more disfunctional ? We're just hitting our stride. Strap yourselves in folks.

I don't want to see Mr. Pegula at a press conference unless he's winning a cup. The hockey department should be there.
-
Has Black given the press a list of acceptable questions yet ? Hopefully the media will hammer them with some tough questions. I don't really expect to hear the right answers but I want to see them sweat a little. Both of their jobs shouldn't be comfortable.

E-mail this to Mr. Pegula. This is the most telling stat of all yet Pegula/Saywer/Black would have us all believe Regier is some kind of a genius when in actuality he is incompetent and should have been shitcanned years ago based on results. Now they've allowed Regier to lower the standards and expectations once again by creating the need for a total rebuild thus ensuring his survival for another day. When is this franchise going to put a fisherman on its jerseys ?

This is a great point. Jochen did his job well. Congrats on a good career and enjoy your retirement. -

I'll watch this one. Last chance to see our collection of loveable losers. I'll try to take away what few positives there were in another shittty season and move on. I'm actually kind of excited for the future  if only because finally there will be change to this group and hopefully to our management team and coaching staff. Next on the schedule is the year end presser. Can't wait to hear that one. Followed by the draft lotto and finally the draft. Should be an exciting offseason. As always, Go Sabres ! I should add. Get Big John his goal will ya. -
I've never understood the argument against either. In no way am I comparing him to Hasek but there was a time when Hasek sat in the backup position and couldn't seem to get his break.
-
His skill set staaled at birth.

Toronto and Montreal are falling back into reality. I love it. Hopefully these two teams go into the playoffs in a funk. :P

Apparently Ozzy is off the wagon so should be some hijinx on tour. Good times. I want to see this show soooo bad !

Just saw the replay of Hechts goal and Vanek was an absolute beast against 2 or 3 Pens to get that puck out to JH.
-
I'll take door #2 Bob.
-
Well they've already learned that its ok to suck with little to no benefit.

Listen. I still like the trade. We got the better player. But have any of you really watched hodgson in the defensive zone ? His shortcomings can't be brushed aside simply because he's been annointed our # 1 centre. Hopefully he grows into that side of the game. He's only 22 so there's that but if he doesn't improve on the defensive side of the puck terms like lazy will fit. And as I say this he's made a couple of nice plays in the Sabres zone. One where he lifted a stick in the crease and saved a goal. I guess he's growing into it. :P

I think Regier gets the boot but won't hold my breath. But for arguments sake and for the spirit of this poll I believe he's gone. I believe Miller will be traded. If you read between the lines in his most recent interviews he has just about had it with management and the losing atmosphere. Same with Vanek. He wants to play for a contender and sounds like he is also tired of the less than stellar job by management. Just my opinion on how I heard recent interviews by these two. Body language and choice of words speak volumes especially with the always emotional Miller. I'll add that I wouldn't mind seeing either of these players leave as long as the return is substantial.

I can't wait for the end of the year presser. It'll be so much better than these final few games where this organization dresses what they'd like us to believe is an N.H.L. roster. I wonder what management will have to say ? Again I can't be bothered to watch. Really in my 40 years of following this team this is the first time I ever remember not being excited about a regular season game. Didn't watch the jets, won't watch this shite. Will I miss anything I haven't already seen ? As always, Go Sabres !
-
This will be the first game I miss this season for lack of interest. Tell Darcy I'm done. The thought of not seeing the Sabres in the playoffs for the next 2-3 seasons kills me. Add that to the last 15 years of mostly futility and non playoff appearances and that adds up to one long stretch of crap product that Darcy has sold us. TP must have drank the fracken water. I've generally tried to stay away from insulting TP but Terry, when it comes to hockey matters you are one stupid/stubborn sob. For all the good you've done the city of Buffalo you've dragged this franchise through the mud with your decision to keep DR. Hows that working out for ya ? Dumb ass. As always, Go Sabres !
-
I have to say it is refreshing to hear Miller openly talk about the failures of past seasons, about not getting it done and about mediocrity. When does that bright flashing neon arrow point down at Regiers head ? I wonder if TP is even paying attention ? His other shiny new toys seem to have him occupied lately.
-
Feels like they're running him out of town.
-
The problem is that hodgson looks like the worst skater in the league in his own end.
-
Hugh Hefner ?

Imo management let Miller down. The one positive for Ryan is he's at the end of a contract not the beginning. With the proper group of guys in front of him Miller would be all world and much like Hasek when Miller leaves he'll probably have a real good shot at the cup. I think he'll win one.
